Just play it whenever they're not in the same room.

Anyways, I've never owned either ME game, and it's never piqued my interest until now. Since it's developed by Bioware, I'm going to assume it's an RPG. I may buy it, may not....I'd kind of feel like jumping on the bandwagon if I did, though.

It's an RPG. That's all BioWare has ever done. And excelled at it, I might add. Think sci-fi third person shooter RPG with an amazing story, great character customization, and ME1 has over 250 planets to explore (dunno about ME2). Oh, and it's fully voiced, which is awesome.

Jump on! There's plenty of room. The bandwagon's only bad if the game is bad, which this is definately not.. Just make sure to get ME1 first and play through it two or three times so you have plenty of stuff to bring into ME2.

Is there anything bad about either game? The screenshots looks like your comp is going to need some beefy gadgets, and my comp is in need of replacing...

In my opinion combat is a pretty weak spot for ME1; you shoot weak lasers from a gun with infinite ammo that overheats and loses accuracy crazily. I spent most of my time trying to rush thru the combat to long but nice storyline and dialogue. Its remedied in ME2 with more conventional shooter mechanics, but its not exactly realistic, a bit like gears of war where u have to chip away at enemy's health.

My other main complaint is the charactor creator, its pretty annoying after making ur character, going thru the cutscenes, only to c he/she looks weird at a certain light or angle. Only the quick-start faces look any good.

Bottom line, both are very good game, but can be slightly irritating if ur into realistic shooters or more conventional RPGs.

Yeah, the only flaws I can really say are the combat and driving segments from ME1. As for ME2, the driving's removed, the gunplay is way better (lots of duck and cover, though). I don't have that big of a problem with custom characters, at least on the 360. You mihgt also not like all the mineral-scanning you have to do, but it pays off in the end.

The new free shotgun is awesome! :D I'm not a fan of the armor though...

Beaten it twice now. Fantastic game, but it's getting stale on the third playthrough, but I'm forcing myself through to get a few key things set up perfect for Mass Effect 3. At least Mordin never gets old.

The combat is both better and worse. I love the new system, but I wish they would have kept the armor and weapons from the last game. The lack of armor variations bugs me a little.

In my last finished playthrough I got everybody through, but I freaked when I thought I saw Grunt get vaporized. I have to give the game credit, I was really anxious for a few moments.

Is it worth trying to go straight renegade? The first play through I went 'paragade', but the second time i went straight paragon-i enjoyed the new dialogue options.
