Well it looks kind of crappy. But don't feel bad! I think you should add flyable vechicles, different skins and maybe even try to put an empire and rebel captital ship! If u do that it will look good!

well he did say it was his first map. At least he's gotten some basics down such as vehicles and the sky. I was wondering, is that lava moving or is it just a texture. It does need some objects though rocks, buildings. I didnt even know how to get vehicles on my first map. Not bad

Game crashes everytime I try to play this one. I even took a few mod maps out of my folder just in case this was one too many. Still didn't work. :?

Not to be a "poser-moderator," but I think I should tell you to be nice. That's not gonna help this new mapper in learning new skills, but will put his hopes down.

Please, be kind and don't put anyone's spirits down.

I would sugjest that you change the fog color to something more red. (Look in the .sky file)

Congrats on your first map. :)

Not bad for a first map. The only things I can suggest is adding more of a black cooled lava-looking texture instead of multiple reds, yellows, and oranges. It would really improve the look of the map, and tone it down just a bit. Also, I'd suggest adding some things like rocks and stuff around the map, just to kinda make things a little less flat and bland. But overall, it's good for a first map. You've definitely got the basics down. With a little bit of practice, you'll be making some great maps. :)

Be sure to use the "blend" tool when in Height Mode. It smooths the elevation so that it isn't so pointy/jagged and it makes it much more natural and realistic.

Also whenever you increase elevation I recommend using a "bell-shaped" paint brush. The square brush just makes it look artificial and blocky.

Like Schizo said I suggest coloring the terrain black so that it looks more like Mustafar. So you're off to a great start and I'm looking forward to more maps from you! :D

If you think it does, try making a map urself then.
It looks good for a first map, but actually i found that stone texture a bit out of place for mustafar :?. Ah, thats just my opinion. Welcome to the modding world!

Is it the first map on the playlist? this map, for some odd reson needs to be first! I have noticed this on many mod maps. other than this, it works fine for me.:?

here is the fog part of the .sky file:

SkyInfo()
{
Enable(1);
FogColor(85,108,142,128);

which numbers do i change to what?

OK, It took me a while. But I think I have alot better of a map now.

Features:
CW:
Vehicles: Republic: 2 JSF's, 2 IFT-X's
CIS: 2 Tri-Fighters, 2 AAT's

Class Changes:
Added Marine, Replaced Engineers w/ Pilots
Pilot's Equipment- Normal + Rifle and Thermal Detonators
Clone Commanders and MagnaGuards have personal Shields (Tell me what you think)

GCW:
Vehicles: Empire: 2 TIE Interceptors, 2 IFT-T's
Alliance: 2 A-Wings, 2 Combatspeeders

Class Changes:
Added Marine, Replaced Engineers w/ Pilots
Pilot's Equipment- Normal + Rifle and Thermal Detonators
Imperial Officer now has Fleet Commander skin :D
Rebel Soldier, Marksman, and Vanguard have urban skins

General Changes:
Accurate weapon names (thanks to the weapon guide by Fiminopter)
Gave Snipers and Anti-Armor classes Commando Pistols (both eras)
Changed fog color to a red (one of my biggest complaints)
Changed terrain texture to the mustafar ground texture.
Changed lava texture to muastafar lava texture
Improved shapeof Volcano and terrain

Issues:
*I need the Lava to Glow.*
I used water to make the lava, but water does not glow. Is it something in the .fx file?

It looks much better now! I just recommend making the terrain a bit more unevenly elevated because right now some spots look kinda flat.

I'm glad to see that at least one person has even looked at this thread. I'll try that Era'.

ALSO: I have fixed the SBD chunks as well :D

AND I STILL NEED THE WATER QUESTION ANSWERED!!!!!!:evil:

Are you talking about glow for the water? I don't think it's possible. The lava on the Mustafar level that came with the game is an object, which is why it can glow. The best way to do it is to 'cheat'. You should be able to lay the Mustafar lava down instead of actual water, then keep your death region below. You could even replace the Mustafar texture for the lava object with your own.

Sorry, I didn't see your question before, or I would have answered it.

is it mus1_bldg_lava_lava? because that's the only thoing I can see that is lava. I'll try it.

Edit: :? Every time I place a mus1_bldg_lava_lava I get an error message (Zeroeditor has encountered a problem and needs to close....). How would you go about placing mustafar lava, I think i'm doing this wrong. I copied the odf from assets\worlds\MUS\common\odfs to data_TST\common\odfs. when I tried to place it, I got the error message (right after I ckicked to place it).
