How to properly install Unofficial 1.2 & 1.3 Patch together

Post by kitfisto15678 »

Recently I've had trouble installing the 1.2 patch correctly and I wasn't able to figure out how to get the edited Republic first person views. I finally figured it out! I figured I'd make a mini tutorial in case anyone else was having this issue.

So here is how to get the 1.2 patch fully working along with the 1.3 patch.

1) Download the Unofficial 1.2 Patch here ( http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.co ... atch;87597 )

2) Install like you normally would

3) Now go to your SWBFII GameData; data; lvl_pc; fpm; rep

4) You should see 2 files with "1.2" in front of them. Delete the 1.2 so that all they say are:

"repcomm.lvl" and "reptroop.lvl"

Say yes to replace or back up the original files.
You now have the edited first person views.

5) Now download the Unofficial 1.3 Patch r129 here ( http://www.mediafire.com/download/pzzna ... h+r129.exe )

6) Start the install and now you will have specific customizable options like the 1.2 HUD etc.

Turning off the 1.2 HUD will NOT change the 1.2 skins. They are independent of one another.

7) Finish the installation and now you have the 1.2 patch and 1.3 patch without any missing features.

Here's a simpler method:

1) Install 1.2 patch
2) Install 1.3 patch

The two patches share exactly one file - ingame.lvl - and as long as the 1.3 patch is installed second, it uses the correct one. You don't need to do anything to set the FPM files up - they install as "on." Don't overcomplicate things.

Perhaps my computer is messed up when I use the 1.2 Parch installs because I don't get the new Rep FPM stuff unless I manually go in there and so what I said above.

When you install it do you get the new FPM stuff? Without going into the gamedata folder?
(you or someone can check since the 1.2 patch has an uninstaller)

I checked before I made the post (I even downloaded the specific versions you linked). I didn't uninstall either (because that's no guarantee), I did an installation to a different folder. Both of the installers, run on their default settings, will do exactly what I said.
