ODF switch

It was a big mistake when I acedently changed my odf's to sketchup properties. I was going through my mod tools and I acedently right clicked on a odf when to properties and set it as a sketchup model. Unfortianatly it says "does not appear to be a sketchup model. That however is not the big problem. Now when I try and open a mod/map in zero edit, all the odf's in it can't be opened. I was wondering if following this tutorial below, or anything else you know of will fix this.

Thanks.

That ODF designation is different from the one used for SWBF2.

As for your problem, I'm not sure how you can do this series of things on "accident," though I understand that you didn't want this to be the outcome when you changed the ODFs. When you say you "set it as a sketchup model," what do you mean (I'm assuming you're talking about Google Sketchup). Did you change what program opened the ODFs? Did you change the file extension? I'm not sure why you would change the ODFs, as they have nothing to do with the model, but you have to clarify your self, explain the exact process you went through, to get any help.

What happened was I was looking to see what other programs where compatible with the model. (I had just downloaded sketchup pro, and was trying to change the odf to an obj for editing in pro) I right clicked and opened up the properties window. I ment to click on obj, for what it opens with, and acedently clicked on sketchup. Now whenever I try and open, download, or do anything with an obj it thinks it's a sketchup model for it's properties. :x

odfs are text files
mshs are the actual model file

I'm still not quite sure what you mean. Can you paste a picture of the properties window that shows exactly what you did?

So you're saying you can no longer open ODFs as text documents? If so, right-click on one and select 'Open With...'. Choose the program you want to open the file and check the 'always use this program' checkbox.

That's what I was thinking, but had he done just that, it shouldn't be causing the problems that he's having.

The point is that I can't open worlds in zero edit with odf's in it, because sketchup mod tools are not compatible with mod tools/zero edit. Here are some pics.

Here is when I right click and click properties.

Here is the final image where I clicked change, and chose sketchup.

Right, then like Zerted said, you should go to the same screen you had in the last picture and choose notepad (or notepad++, etc.; the program you would edit ODF files with) from the list.
However, like I was saying, I don't think that will resolve your problem (though it may). If it doesn't fix the problem, do me a favor and look at the folder window, go to the "Tools" tab at the top, and select "Folder Options." Inside this window, click the "View" tab and on the list, uncheck the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types." Now recreate the second picture and let me see it.

Ok here are some pics. Also I tried both things you recommended but it didn't work completely. It didn't all fail as one. I was able to open the odf, and see it's properties with word pad. However I couldn't open it in zero edit. I also did the tools/folder options/view, and unchecked the box you were talking about. Here are the pics you asked for.

This is me in zero edit.

This is when I changed the properties to wordpad.

Last of all this is when I try and open the odf outside of zero edit.

Word Pad adds some things to your script (something to do with brackets and whatnot)
and there is no download link for it, you should already have it (you're talking about notepad right?)

Well, I do have notpad. However wordpad is also a text file. (same as notepad.) Do I still need to change it? Also my main goal however is how to open odf's in zero edit, becuase when I changed the properties it wouldn't open in zero edit, becuase it doensn't reconise/isn't compatible with it.

I can't help you with the Zero Editor problem, but Wordpad adds in extra characters that can and will crash your map.
Notepad does not add these characters

use notepad++ ( :google: )
it can strukture many different filetypes (custom format for commented out lines etc.)

Well, I changed the properties to notpad and it won't even open now. However it does open with word pad. Here is what it looks like.
