Hi everyone. I just got into modding SWBF recently and 3D modeling. So here is my first mostly finished model for use in SWBF and SWBF2.

Its a knuckle vibroblade for the Republic Commando Model. It just needs to be exported for use. The blade texture came from the RC modtools.

Mostly its just held in the hand to give the look of having the blade in the knuckle plate. I might need to rescale it though.

Also heres and old pic of my first, un finished XSI model. A Sniper Rifle/Railgun type weapon.

Its a crap pic, because its all in polys, I have it in tris right now and it needs to be textured.

you need to get rid of alot of wasted edges on your model before you start to UV and texture it, if the points/edges dont contribute to any shape then they arent needed and should be removed. select some edges that surround the Z axis of the barrel and delete them and see the result and sorta experiment in what you can delete that wont change the volume or shape of the model.

As far as I know the RC tools come with the Best of PC Republic Commando. I don't know where they first came from, as I have only gotten into PC games and modding over the last year. There are some great skins out there, but I don't know for sure if we can use them like others do with the JKA stuff.

Heres my latest model. A somewhat fixed Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon.

I have the model configured for rifle animations at this point, but if somebody makes proper anims I'll change the top handle.
After I set up the hard points and UV map it can somebody export it for me?

Well, the Railgun/Sniper Rifle and Chaingun will be public releases once textured and exported (if I ever get around to texturing and find someone or someway to export it). Majin gets first use of the DC stuff so dont ask on those (its in 2 other threads).

looks good. Even with all the details there's still a pretty low amount of polygons! Nice work as well!

Very nice detail for a low-poly model. But as swbf_lase said, the handle is on the small side, also the DC-17m is more of a Carbine/Handgun mix (it can be fired one handed incase of emergency) So shorten the clip housing abit along with the back area, other than that well done. Also, move the sliding "breech tab" area(it moves in the RC game lol) forward a bit as it's part of the attachment and not the main body (its too close to the slanted area in the back).

Your forward grip is way better and makes me want to re do mine :).

I've been bored, so since I don't have that many Ideas for models, I made something simple.
An arena object perhaps for Rancor's next duel map.

I've gotten bettter at texturing, I still don't know how to make a UV map, but I have learned how to apply a texture then use the alt + 7 menu to move around the sufaces so that they use the part of the texture I want them too.

if you play Galactic Battlegrounds(yes, i am into it again, i got while i was very young and i plan to find something in there to make, and yes they will have better graphics, and yes EAW is better but GB has more races) and you used the wookiee race, if you use a worker to hunt a nerf he will use this to kill the nerf for food. i plan to make a rifle version with shock anims like a arc caster and a staff version that when hit by it, you will get shocked.

i dubbed it the Wookiee Hunting Shock Staff/Stick

notice it has no handle grip, is that ok?

the problems:

proper odfs

need to know any extra requirements in a melee weapon

Warning: i am sry but there might be some open spaces(tiny) in all of my models :( .
