Yes it is. Not AS blue, but everything else isn't light gray. It all has a bluish tint to it.
EDIT: Notch just tweeted that someone found out what it was, though he didn't elaborate.
EDIT2: Aha, figured out what it was. I didn't do it, but this:
Hidden/Spoiler:
I figured that the "error" in the picture wasn't actually an error. That's kind of exciting.

Guys, look at the tabs. "Huge Mushroom". I think it's one of the features that Notch said you could find in the images.

Hmm. Just realized that the 4 pictures are of the same cave. And I actually think experience orbs is it, and at least explains the lighting at the end. At night, same cave, no lighting. Daytime, cave is all lit, and we can figure mobs have been killed. Perhaps the yellow light in the daytime pic is from the actual orbs, without showing us the orbs.
As for the blue light, I'm still not convinced. I do see what you're saying though, and I'm probably wrong.

After much work, I finished my Cress Albane skin. I'm not happy with the lack of red in the skin, but GIMP was having problems, and the Minecraft guy doesn't wear a cape anyway.
1.7 wasn't the adventure update! Notch LIESSSSSSsssSSsSSSS!

Nope. The first part of your post is wrong, as it was a community decision to release 1.7 with just pistons, shears, and the finished stuff. Notch asked on twitter if he should do that and he got over a 90% yes response. The second part I disagree with. Haven't gotten to use them yet, but I had the mod and the best part about that mod was that you could launch people, sand, animals, minecarts, etc. high into the air with the pistons, and now you can't. That means no more wave machines, no more fast easy minecart stations, no more fast travel, and the most important is no more easy elevators.
EDIT: For anyone whom it may concern, the Aether mod finally came out. Click!shadow bump, sorry
EDIT2: Whoah. Some people are recreating all of Middle Earth from LotR in Minecraft. Click!

New mob in 1.8. Notice how they're tall, slender, and creepy, and look like squids from the back. Notch finally cracked and added slenderman into minecraft.
Also, new tree is new.

That mob seems to have a stocking on its head.

The new tree is a giant mushroom. I remember seeing that block in a picture of an NPC village that Notch released.

Notch talks about the Endermen:
Hidden/Spoiler:
I wanted something a bit more psychological. So to really drive home the point of looking at them being bad, I made the Endermen freeze and turn towards you when you look at them. As long as you look straight at them, they stand perfectly still and look straight at you. As soon as you look away, they will run (very fast) towards you.
And they teleport. If they’re too far away to reach you in a short period of time, they will teleport about once per second. They try to make sure they always teleport to somewhere you can see, as I don’t want to confuse the player as to what is happening.
When they attack, you know it’s your fault. When you happen to look at one, you can keep looking at it to figure out how to deal with it, but you know it WILL reach you very fast once you stop looking at it.
And that, my friends, is creepy. Possibly too creepy.

I'm Sorta Excited...I've been wanting harder "Bad guys" :vader2:
