These are some pretty cool effects. I have quite a selection of effects as well. I'll play the game later, and post some pics of them when I get some good shots.

Ok, just recently got SWBF2 and was trying things out in modding it.

I found something interesting (some of you may know this already but bear with me), apparently SWBF2 renders particle effects differently from its predcessor. I was placing in some of the custom effects I made and noticed some stuff.

#1. That cool Conc explosion needs to be redone, cause the center doesnt get rendered and its really faded compared to it in SWBF1.

#2 I'll let the pics speak for me.

SWBF1- com_sfx_weap_sonic_exp_sm.fx (just the label I gave it). This one you've seen already.


SWBF2- Exact same effect, but as rendered in SWBF2


I frankly like the SWBF2 render of it waay better.

Are you sure it's not just rendering it like that because of missing texture files?

The second pic looks like it's creating a shield or something. Cool!

since we have a topic for glamer shots, new skins, new models, and more (maybe more) i think that we should have an effects showcase thread. i just like making effects...

i'll start with the ones you have probably seen before in my assets pack but i already have alot of new effects but i just need to take screenshots of them and upload them.

thanks, i just think its really fun to make a custom effect and get it in game, also i still haven't uploaded the other screenshots since i have been busy making a fist fighting combo for my unit.

When I make my sides for my current map, I'll advertise any effects I make here. But to others here, fantastic effects!

I would actually consider myself a noob at making effects...

Next time I'll try to make some explosions...
