Wow, I love the skin on the Siege Trooper. But how come u don't use the underhand chaingun?
Looks very cool.Skyhammer_216 wrote:Map Update
Anyway, random glamour shots!Hidden/Spoiler:Hidden/Spoiler:
Sky has never used the underhand chaingun, he doesn't like it.Nova Hawk wrote:Wow, I love the skin on the Siege Trooper. But how come u don't use the underhand chaingun?
Actually he just thinks its overrated + couldn't be bothered. It may get used as the Clone Gunner's weapon (currently using standard chaingun).Delta-1035 wrote:Sky has never used the underhand chaingun, he doesn't like it.Nova Hawk wrote:Wow, I love the skin on the Siege Trooper. Seconded.Yeh Yank man round of applause great work
Agreed. Can think of only a few others (definitely not me) in the same league (not counting maps using heaps of custom props). He's also fast (look at how many maps he's made since coming back to Gt...including the BF0/DS one(s))Nihillo wrote: After beta-testing Khimera Battlegrounds and seeing those screenshots, I'm starting to think Yankfan may be the best SWBF2 mapper nowadays (and one of the best overall mappers I have ever seen).
My gosh, I know. He's basically finished a mappack and completed multiple maps for other people in the time it's taken me to properly adjust the terrain on one of mine. And it's all top-notch work. He's also fast (look at how many maps he's made since coming back to Gt...including the BF0/DS one(s))
Those maps are actually harder, you know that?Skyhammer_216 wrote:(not counting maps using heaps of custom props).
Oh c'mon...you deserve most of the credit here, Like I said before, any prop/building/turret edits/new props/buildings/turrets you want/need just PM me.YaNkFaN wrote:i just want to say that this map was made before khimera was started and thanks for all the comments i really appreciate it but I have to say that sky's effects are amazing that force power dooku has is sick if that was only in bf2 that would be amazing. I will be making more maps for DS after Khimera is released towards the end of this month
Of course they are - but you can't really judge them in the same way since in one situation your seeing/judging someone's ability to make a fresh + coherant environment from pre-existing material (possibly with reskins), while in the other your'e seeing/judging mainly someone's modelling + texturing ability and their mapping skill.Maveritchell wrote:Those maps are actually harder, you know that?Skyhammer_216 wrote:(not counting maps using heaps of custom props).![]()
They are some nice screenshots, though, that one looks fun (although it's tough to tell from glamour shots what it really looks like). Reminds me a bit of Del's Raxus Prime (aided I am sure by Pandemic's Raxus assets).
I regularly judge them the same way as part of my volunteer job at SWBFFiles, so I would disagree. Having played and done both ways, I feel pretty confident in saying "mapping is mapping is mapping." I don't adjust my scales for either kind and don't have any problems comparing Rome apples to Gala apples.Skyhammer_216 wrote:Of course they are - but you can't really judge them in the same way since in one situation your seeing/judging someone's ability to make a fresh + coherant environment from pre-existing material (possibly with reskins), while in the other your'e seeing/judging mainly someone's modelling + texturing ability and their mapping skill.
I meant judging the mappers skill/how hard the map was to make against that of other mappers...not how good the map is.Maveritchell wrote:I regularly judge them the same way as part of my volunteer job at SWBFFiles, so I would disagree. That is neither here nor there, though - it looks nice and I'll look forward to trying it (and others) out.
I'm at about the same place as Ping. I have all seven maps from my Aldura series (each with CW conquest and eventually CW campaign), one or two other maps of mine (each with CW and GCW conquest, I think), and at least three other maps, each with a decent number of missions.Ping wrote:2) I don't really know how many missions all three of those take up, but I have been able to put in about a dozen maps with all three of those mods installed.
