AimAzimuth? [Solved]

Post by Sky_216 »

Does anyone know hat this actually does, if it does everything? Its only used in weapons with strikes as secondary ordnances, and AimElevation and AimDistance are pretty simple, but as to what AimAzimuth does I've got no idea....

I'm guessing here, though you could just try it out and see on a test map, that it probably relates to the angle at which the strike comes down. For example, an AimAzimuth of 0 would be perpendicular to the horizontal while a 30 AimAzimuth (if it's measured in degrees) would strike at a 60 angle above the horizontal.

Nope, AimElevation controls degrees.

I would think that the AimElevation would control just that, maybe the elevation that the effect starts at. To what file are you referring; I don't see the parameters in the orbital attack ODFs, though I see that they're on Psych0fred's site.

No aim elevation is angle, aim distance is elevation (height) that effects start at. Look at the actual orbital strike weapon 'ord's...should be there.

There are 2 angles at which the ordnance strikes the terrain
AimElevation(Altitude) shown on the left
AimAzimuth shown on the right
