Is there going to be a grappling hook?
It is coming out when it is done (at least a beta version will be finished soon; as I said some pages ago, I planned on at least having a beta out before March was over). There will not be a grappling hook; I made that for "The Big 'L'" and adding it here would just be gratuitous (because it has no real place in this era; it never showed up as anything prominent) and would be lessening the impact of its use later on.
As far as that's concerned, I would've sworn that I saw on GT that you can't do a grappler in BF2 anyway. Also, as far as the release date, Mav, take as much as you need, the more time you spend on this, the better it will get!
Wave mode looks pretty dang awesome too! Keep up the good work!

The problem is that modders dont tell when their work is done just because they dont know it themselves. Perhaps he has an ETA on the beta, but then there might be some bugs or balance issues which need to be fixed and noone knows how much time it will take. Therefore the mod is released when its done.
IMHO the problem with many games today is that a publisher rushes the developer and the game is not finished when it is released. Many modders dont set up any deadlines to prevent such situations.

My experience making Tomb Raider levels tells me it's suicide to give a solid release date over no date since you don't know when it's going to be done.

just wondering if this new melee style would be able to be used in the kotor era????
also, with the wave mode would it be possible to make a hard medium and easy difficulty setting or something like that by adjusting the unit count or something???

There already is a built-in setting to change difficulty - AI difficulty level. And as mentioned before, online Hoth wave mode is harder than offline Hoth wave mode.

Anyway, here's an update (hopefully the last one before I've got a beta build put together).
Dark Times Space Redux... plus heroes!
Just to quickly re-cover the space portion of Dark Times:
-Focuses less on "The Force Unleashed"
-Time period = BBY
-Four space maps available: Space Corellia, Space Dantooine, Space Nar Shaddaa, and Space Raxus Prime
I didn't want to just leave Dark Times with the modes it has now (Conquest, Wave, Hero Assault, Duel) and I wanted to make sure I added at least one more singleplayer mode. To that end, I added "Team Dogfight" into the space maps - with a twist.
Instead of Team Dogfight with all the vehicles from the Space Assault maps, in lieu of the shuttles, special vehicles are made available - hero vehicles. And of course, with hero vehicles must come the heroes themselves.
The way my space heroes work is this: The hero vehicles are only available to the heroes, and heroes can only use hero vehicles. Heroes can leave their vehicles, but they are not equipped to do anything except for flying - so it's worth their while to stay aflight.
Heroes are still made available through the hero system, but your health will not drain (indeed, outside of vehicles, while heroes are useless, they are virtually invulnerable). The only way heroes can be killed is by beating them in a dogfight.
As with the Dark Times conquest maps, heroes are random (although the selection for space is much smaller) and heroes are available to the AI offline.
There are four total space heroes - two for each side. Available to the Rebels are Han Solo and Biggs Darklighter, and the Imperials have Darth Vader and Boba Fett. In the following screenshots, you can see them in action:

Slave 1 looks sick one question though if this adds another era my era list is getting abit long is there a way to make that little list scroll or will I just have to uninstall stuff

If you have too many eras, no scroll bar will appear, but all the eras will still be shown, though they spill over out of their shell box. I believe if you have the SWBF1 Pack, BFX and this, then, while the list may look odd, you can still select all the eras.

I second that. But just one question will AI go into the hero's ship while you are the hero?

Well, Mav said that the heros ships will be available for heroes only. So I'm guessing no.
This mod keeps getting better and better Mav, keep it up. I also hope you have some extra paper towels for all this drool.
