Auto is not useless, it's good for those times when you are actually close to the enemy or fighting indoors. I'd reccommend you use it just as you would use a shotgun.
True, keep a weapon on auto for transport until you are ready to engage targets at farther than ten feet away is wise. However, as we both have said, performing the latter task on auto is close to impossible.

I can do it easily with my mouse. But yeah, I agree with ecko, you should learn how to land the plane, that is an essential skill for pilots in this game. Helicopters are a good alternative if you want to go airborne, just remember that you must slow down a little before trying to use the "A" and "D" keys to turn around.
It's possible, just very difficult from my joystick-spoiled experience :D

You can also bind the 9th weapon slot to a key closer to your left hand, such as "X" to make it easy and quick to grab a bandage. This can save your life.
Good idea, I hadn't thought of that. Another thing: provide cover for your medic as soon as your revived, and if the medic asks you to move (not often, since you can't move very quickly) than you should follow their request because they are saving your life.

I do okay on a few south american servers, but yeah lag is somewhat worse with PR over vanilla because of the sheer size of the maps - were talking 2x2+ kilometers!

Mount and Blade: Warband. Or just the stock game if you want any kind of mods... but I don't think there's multiplayer that way.

If you want another modern warfare FPS, Combat Arms should hold you over for a little bit. But grab a buddy or two (or 5) to play with, the community kinda sucks...

Ugh. I wish we had a feature that let us just cross out something, can't remember what the term is though, hehe. The "kinda" doesn't belong.

You know, I have already tried out that game it was fun but then it got boring after a while. My username (if your wondering) was Corellia.

When it comes out, you might want to try War for Cybertron. I don't know if it tames your tastes, but I've been obsessing over it, and assume that you should to.

I used to play it too, but left for the same reasons as you. I eventually found CrossFire as a good substitute...wait, I already listed that, didn't I?

Well, I thought of another good game. Command & Conquer: Generals. With the expansion pack, Zero Hour, it becomes the best Real-Time Strategy game I currently own, in my opinion. All of the factions are unique and yet balanced. Though the graphics may not be the best, and the AI certainly aren't what I'd call smart, it has huge modding potential, and there are countless mods already made for it.

If you're willing to fork over the full price of a new game, I highly recommend Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I don't own it, but I've played through the full campaign on a friend's computer, and I loved it. You have to have sort of a taste for realism - recoil is high, grenade throw distance is low, and bullet drop is in full effect - but I thought it was an excellent game, with a good story, great characters, a variety of weapons, and about three moments as epic as the ending of CoD 4.

I nearly forgot to hop in and mention a game that's been a lot of fun for me lately, and it's made by (faux?) Pandemic.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames :P It's a free roaming 3rd person shooter. Not only can you shoot, but you can drive tanks, APCs, boats, cars, helicopters, etc. The environment is very destructible, short of deforming terrain. Need a sniper rifle? Call in a supply drop, or just take one from that guy you just naded off a balcony! Before I forget, you can also call in many different airstrikes. I'm starting to sound like an advertisement, so I'll try to not overhype it. ..but I have to mention it features the voice talents of Peter Stormare and Jennifer Hale. :D My only gripe is that there isn't more to do. As a great man once said, "More soldiers! Send some more! Come on, come on, come on, come on!"

Oh, and there's one cuss word that gets used from time to time, referring to being shot in a certain area of the body. :P I find it hilarious.
