Getting a prop to cast a shadow on itself.

Is it possible to apply a shadowvolume/some other thing to a prop which allows it to cast a shadow on itself? The reason I ask is because I've created a large indoor facility with one large base model, and it doesn't seem to be casting shadows on itself. My explanation sound really weird, I know, so if you don't get it I can post a picture of what I mean.

EDIT: Here's a pic. As you can see, the units shadow appears to be floating because the prop isn't generating its own shadow.

if you have a lagre indoorspace and want shadows, create shadowvolumes only for the props inside the space. dont give the building itself a shadow or theinside will just be dark. the issue with such structures in batlefront is that shadows are cast on all objects, no matter if they are obstructed by another object. depending on the lightorientation you have to be carefull or shadows will be cast through walls or ceilings which can result in pretty strange visuals in vertain places.
