people im gonna start making a new era soon and am going to have a hero assault mode.

I want people to design the own dream player and submit it on this topic

What point and/or details are you trying to get across to us? Is this a contest? What do you mean? Explain.

Translation: He wants us to create a unit and submit it here, then he'll put the unit in his hero assault mode.

Basically he wants us to do most of the work.

Then you are wasting your time; the majority of us here on Gametoast have our own projects to work on. I would suggest you learn how to do any of this yourself like the rest of us, because seriously, I promise you that you will not have any takers.

What would be my incentive to doing this?

Before we go jumping to conclusions, let's assume he knows how to make these units, he just wants to make a "GT" era featuring units based on members of the community. So, theoretically, you could just tell him what you would like to see in a unit and make him do the work, but the skin would be kinda hard to just tell him what you want to see.

You know, that would actually make for a rather hilarious era.

If, that is true it would be similar to my unfinished and unannounced F.W.M.T.M.(Frayed Wires Mod Team Mod). It had a unit for each member. The unit model/skin was handled by the creator, and then I would handle the ODF work. The mod was put on hold to focus on TCW.




I would be willing to create a character for the mod, given I handle most of the work. Tweaks made by the author of the mod would be understandable, like health and weapon damage(for balance issues).

It's funny because this idea is quite similar to the DMI project, but somehow everyone found time out of their projects to make a lot for that. See the irony?

I actually remember there being a mod, I believe by Skyhammer for his snowy island map, where GT members told him what kind of unit they wanted and he made them. Some people actually submitted their own units. It's not that radical to ask someone to give their own units, considering it doesn't take that long to edit a skin/edit some .odfs.

That is what I want along with a new era I'm gonna make I want people to have their own heroes for hero assault so when they play it they get to see their own custom person.

Is this about ideas for units, or making the units?

I'm sorry, but nothing was explained in or about the proposal which was provided. All I got from the first post was, "hey, make stuff for me." Maybe I didn't read it clearly enough, I don't know, but it doesn't matter; what happened happened and I'm not discussing it further.


On-topic:

Now that I actually know what I'm (generally) supposed to do now (lol), count me in as well! Does this unit have to be of ourselves, or just anything we want in general?

Off-topic: I don't see how this could be compared to the DMI project. RepSharpshooter actually took his time and plenty of effort to fully explain his vision of the project, among other things. Because RepSharpshooter demonstrated that he was a competent project lead, and because it seemed the project had a credible future, that was incentive enough for others to want to participate.

Make one with the Guy Fawkes mask and I'll be happy. I have no idea what is going on here *shrug* .
