how do i skin i mean i need a good beginers guide to skinning please tell

open the .tgas files and edit them

Hmm, it depends on what your skinning. If your skinning terrain and sky textures, you can edit them from your world1 folder. If your skinning objects/buildings, you need to go into the mesh folder and search the mesh file for the tgas you need to edit, from there just locate those tgas and make a assumption on what part your editing. If your editing vehicles and units there is a trickier approach.

Youl need a good .tga editor like Gimp 2.0 (Thats free) of Photoshop (not free) or just get a .tga converter and use paint. However you will not be able to get very good results.

Its good, but I haven't used it much. I prefer other programs though.

Is Corel still going? jeez it always used to be awful! I've been using Adobe Photoshop since Photoshop 3 (during my uni days) and I'm currently using CS2 suite of stuff, sorry but it pwns your v7!
There aremany good editors about that are free/freeware etc... try
http://www.download.com to see if there's one you might like. Good luck with your skinning!
