Weird problem when playing an old game...

I decided to install again an old game, star wars battlegrounds, don't know, just wanted to play it, everything was fine, until I began to play, after the loading screen finishes, th gme crashes and an error says:

"The Instruction at "0x771c741a" referenced memory at"0x0..." (any number). The memory could not be read."

I searched on the internet of what that could be, and it seems that it is a problem with the ikernel files or somethig like that, but I don't know what to do, I update the install shield thing, I searched for SP 2 hotfixes and stuff (which in a trouble shooting guide said that I should do it), I also read that it is caused because the file can be either corrupt, outdated (not because I updated it), or a compability issue with a java but don't know what to do... any help please?

Dude the thing is that I've been doing all the things that are supposed to fix the problem, but no luck..., what info do you need?, just google Ikernel.exe problem, and what appears is exactly what is happening to me

Yup I tried that fix too, but didn't notice about the Stdole.tlb files part, I think those files are missing from my pc, do you know where I can find them?, and where do I have to put them?
