There's a faq thread on how to get models in game, find it and study it. Your biggest problem is that the model isn't even facing the right way, if you exported it now it would be nose down in the ground.

Well, it would actually be nose up, but regardless, all he needs to do is rotate it -90° around the x-axis and 180° around the y-axis.

looks good but the nose and missiles are pretty high poly, you could definitely filter some out ans they look like they're just cones/cylinders.
edit: an imperial rifle kit-bash, to be used as an SMG of sorts in my sides.

And you said his model had too much detail? The stock has these vertical edges running through it that serve absolutely no purpose in defining any shape whatsoever and the barrel has too many sides.

@Mini: The barrel is stock barrel. Everything but the stock is, well, a stock model. Looks nice, Obi.

Because Meshtool uses triangles. He probabbly just hasn't gotten around to removing them from the stock model. Though perhaps it's better he didn't, seeing as a gun is small and may need triangulation in some parts anyway.
Edit: well fluffy beat me.

Haven't modeled in a while, but I just started on this one yesterday:
Wireframe:
It's a WWII German Kar98k bolt-action rifle. It's not finished yet, I still have to skin it, but I think it is pretty good for what I am capable with at my low skill level.
Let me know what you think.

yup its all stock minus 3 cylinders that were created that each didn't have many subdivs. and honestly there may be a wasted poly here or there but its nowhere near the limit at all so i really dont see any reason to lessen the detail.
@elfie-looks great for not modeling in a while

the butt of the gun and that whole back portion of it looks pretty squarish, maybe bevel the sides or something.

I'll post the wireframe when it's fully textured, no worries...

It's not exactly like it, I just Googled some pics, got the basic idea of it and then just "deeeeeid mah thang".
Edit: A staff member said I should post the wireframe, so I better play by the rules:

Enable Headlight+Wireframe on Shaded=Us being able to see more detail on the model than both of your pictures combined.

That's what I thought at first also, but the reference pick shows the back with sharp "squarish" edges.

But those vertical edges looping the stock server absolutely no perpose, they don't contribute to any detail of the gun, that's why they are a complete waste.

There's no reason why the guy should delete them, since they will still get there when he exports the model. Fully exported game models are (as far as I know)
always tri'd.
No offence, but I am surprised that such an experienced modeller doesn't seem to know this.
