I rewatched the preview, I did not get a good look at him, maybe it wasnt quigon, but it WAS obi-wan that was talking to him. maybe obi gets his memory wiped ^_^ oh god i hope they dont actually do that....

I
know Jango Fett is going to come back in 20 years. He didn't get his head cut off! It was just a clone!
Somewhere George Lucas is laughing... and rolling in money.

More likely with the history of Star Wars writers.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it was the original. After all, who would waste time creating the perfect replica of Darth Maul? Aside from George Lucas, I mean.
Plus, he was supposed to have survived in the non-canonical Old Wounds, so I don't see why he couldn't have survived in the canon. After all, Vader was delimbed and set on fire and still he lived.

What in her character even suggests that that's even a possibility? I see no tragic past, no major personality flaws, nothing. No, there will be an outside influence of some sort.

I guess your right. I would just really like to see that happen.

Are you complaining against a Qui-Gon Jinn cameo? Specially one voiced by no other than Liam Neeson himself?
Are you even a Star Wars fan?

It might be they're complaining that everything we once knew as Star Wars is seeming to be altered. Obi-Wan wasn't supposed to be aware that Qui-Gon found a way to communicate through death until Yoda tells him the news in Episode III. Darth Maul was sliced in half and fell down a rather deep hole, and now he's alive. I mean it's one thing for EU writers to contradict the movies, but this is getting cleared by Lucas, himself, isn't it?
I mean sure, they might have thought of a clever way for it to still work alongside the movies, but at least clear it up for us....

Maybe Yoda is communication with Qui Gon? I haven't seen the trailer/clip in question, but maybe Obi Wan DOESN'T find out until later, but someone else does.

Obi-Wan does, indeed, talk to what appears to be Qui-Gon's Force ghost. Honestly, I don't care whether it breaks continuity or not - I think it's nice to see Qui-Gon make an appearance, since he's a good character who is rarely used.

But we don't know anything yet.

They, more than anyone, know about it.

I'm not sure how a still picture of him can prove that he's alive. He could be and couldn't be. Nobody knows for sure.

How can you ask for them to clear this up if the episodes have not aired yet? You can't judge them until we see end of the story. Then we can discuss if it makes sense or not. Not when we don't know anything about it.

Right, hence my last statement, "Maybe they made it work."
Alexrd wrote:

After the Mandolorian mess, I don't trust them to respect what was once thought as true. I'm sorry, call me OCD, but until this series every EU writer respected each other's fiction. There weren't any conflicting plotlines (aside from Infinities, but those were written with the purpose of being conflicting), even if the stories weren't all that great. You're not going to change my mind on this.

Savage: "But, all of my kin are dead."
Talzia: "No, there is another. He is in exile in the Outer Rim."
I'm pretty sure that's a definite "Whoever is pictured in the crystal ball knows alot about the Dark Side and is very much alive.". So you're right, it may not be Darth Maul. They might have made a totally new Iridonian with Sith tatoos who used to be a Sith. Way to be original.

One statement saying, "No, we didn't screw over any pre-existing canon, so stop worrying, you silly fanboys, just wait until the episode airs to see how clever we are," would set aside any doubts. However, no such statement has been made, so us silly fanboys worry.

Hey everyone, here's a thought: Why not just wait until they explain it all before freaking out.
Cuz everyone is, even if they say they aren't.
