New mob in 1.8. Notice how they're tall, slender, and creepy, and look like squids from the back. Notch finally cracked and added slenderman into minecraft. :runaway:
Also, new tree is new.
Well, given my proclivity for murderating creepers, I'm likely to rush up to one thinking I can kill it and die horribly.

By "murderating creepers", I mean, "bait creepers, build 3 meter stack of dirt and stab them."

Interesting, because I murderate creepers by standing in my doorway, idling, and watching as they run up to me, only to get vaporized by my laser perimeter. I don't even get gunpowder from it, but it's so worth it.

This is how I deal with creepers (and other hostile mobs): A smaller version of a trap known as "Der Häcksler", "the dismemberer".

Bedrock IS destroyable, this guy managed to blow a hole thru it!

Bedrock has been indestructible, even tnt, for a very long itme now, and I don't think the 1.7.3 update changed that. With mods though... anything is possible 8)

indestructable is relative, BF2's capital ships are it, but if the blast is strong enough, they can be destroyed. maybe bedrock has also a horrible ammount of "health" and regenerates itself like our caps, but then it would still be destructable, even if it can't happen without anything that does more damage than the programmers ever expected.

As having tons of experience with massive amounts of TNT, I can say that this is fairly unlikely. I won't give a definite yes or no, but I'd be surprised if, through all my trials, I never had enough force to break through Bedrock.

There actually used to be a way to remove Bedrock using seeds, but I'm fairly certain they fixed that, so as of now I'm pretty sure there's no legit way of destroying or removing Bedrock.

Bedrock is destructable. It'll just take 13.5 hours with a diamond pickaxe..

MUST.... TRY....

Nah, I've heard that you could dynamite bedrock, but it's both unlikely, and why would you?

Can't happen:
The Minecraft Wiki wrote:Destructibility

It is a common myth that bedrock can be destroyed by a sufficient quantity of TNT. Examinations of the Minecraft code have shown that multiple explosions do not add damage to blocks; any block that is not destroyed by one TNT immediately adjacent to it will not be destroyed by additional TNT. While bedrock does have a finite damage resistance (18,000,000), there is no explosive in the game which has that much force.

Notch confirmed on the 11th of February 2011, during a Machinima Live stream[1], that it is indestructible, or so solid that the amount of TNT it would to take to destroy it would more than certainly crash your computer, therefore the save file would show no evidence of the explosion ever happening.

It is not possible to break bedrock with a pickaxe in 12.5 hours (or in any other time). Bedrock has "hardness" of -1. A negative hardness is handled separately in the code, and causes any damage done to the block by the player's "hits" to be zero, and thus the accumulated damage will never reach the value required to break the block. The accumulated damage value can not overflow or "wrap around" either.

Due to the inconvenience of being indestructible, many mods include functionality to destroy bedrock.

the explosion lasts now over 1:30h and crashed the game 50 times, but the half is over.
I'll finish it tommorow.

Now if we could just rig it so that M1 is held down for 13.5 hours we'd make minecraft history!

Anyone with the Aether will get why this is so awesome, and I've already shown this to Fett, but while I was 'splorin, I found this thing:

If you can get it to work and can find the right mods to go with it, totally. I'll get a list of mods that work great with it eventually.

I added the Aether mod, but whenever I quit and re-start Minecraft, I'm back in the normal dimension. Wut? Is this normal?
