ModTools failing

I really don't understand what's going on. I've had the modtoosl for a while, and they've worked fine, but recently, they stopped working. I uninstalled the tools, reinstalled them, opened visualmunge, created a new map, opened visualmunge from inside the map's folder, munged, and the map won't run (missing mission.lvl). I did notice that the folder _LVL_PC is not created inside the map's folder in the ModTools' directory and the _LVL_PC folder is empty inside the map's folder in the addon folder.
Basically, I know what's wrong, I just don't know what caused it or how it caused it.
If anyone's had this sort of thing happen to them, or if anyone has a suggestion on how to fix it, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks.

Both of the files from Filefront and LucasFiles do the same thing. The further I look into it, the more it puzzles me. The munge will take the files in the ...\addon\ABC\_LVL_PC folder if they exist and put them in the ...\data_ABC\_LVL_PC folder, however, if they don't exist it will do nothing. Thus I'm stuck without any .lvl files. I even tried on the off chance of it working to copy over the _LVL_PC folder of another map that still works (created before this problem), though it had the same problem.
So my question still stands, however I would also like to know if the folder _LVL_PC is created in ...\data_ABC when the map is first created, so would someone please check that for me. Also, if that folder is created, what files exist inside of it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but where do you have the mod tools at? Like the folder for it.
VisualMunge has a real hard time working with folders where the name has a space in it.
This is a problem I had... If you have it in something that has a space in it (Ex. Program Files/Lucasarts/etc.) even if it's not directly inside that folder, but it the path it has to follow has a space in it, the LVL_PC_ will be empty and the game will crash.
So, if that helps,

. If it doesn't, sorry for wastin' space

Don't worry 'bout "wasting space," at least you tried to help, but no, it's not that. It's presently installed directly to my c drive and it worked several months ago, it just started doing this after I checked back recently from my hiatus.

... sry... i was thinking it mingt just be a data prosses errer... try moving the data_*** foulder out fo bf2 mod tools and creat a new data_*** with visusal munge... and if it works... copy the original data_*** folder and merge it w/ the new one... i hate coputers cause all too often they do stuff like this.... .... it makes me mad... ... to no end......

That might work if it were an old map I had worked on that was failing, but my old maps are fine while I lack the ability to create new maps because of the problem stated above.
