Installation problems with KOTOR 2

I recently tried to re-install KOTOR 2 on my Win 7 computer (installed on xp b4) but when it gets to disk 2, data3.cab, i get this error
Code: Select all
FEATURE TRANSFER ERROR
Feature:Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords_Files
Component: DefaultComponent
File: D:\data3.cab
Error: Data Error(cyclic redundancy check)
i tried copying all the CD stuff (from cds 1-4) into one folder and installing, but it didn't work, because i get another problem with data3.cab, which doesn't want to copy completely, and which i believe to be damaged.
Is there another way to fix this, or do i have to buy another copy, or is there a way to get another data3.cab?
thanks

Quick google search says something's physically wrong with the disc, probably scratched. I think you're just gonna have to get another copy, cuz I don't think there's a legal way to get another copy of the data files without said disc. Perhaps a friend also owns kotor2 and can let you borrow that specific install disc?
EDIT:
Or according to this:

It might be your antivirus. That forum says to either disable your antivirus during the install or copy the contents of the CD onto your HDD and try running it from there.
