After seeing all the space things I just had to make my own.

So here is my first go at a space environment, spent ~2 hours on it.

(Rez is 800 x 640 because it's too big for the forums otherwise)

These are the first 3 fractals i've made. I know their not great, but i've never worked with GIMP before, however i think im getting the hang of it.
first one: 1 fractal, inverted colors
second: 1 plasmacloud, 1 fractal
third: supernova, 2 fractals, bunch of blur/sharpens, bunch of lens modifications
sorry for the random sizes, i'll be making them smaller from now on ( like the last one, 500x500)

GAH! I need to make a starscape now!

Oh! There's that one I made in Graphic Design...here we go. It's not that great, might make another later this weekend, but I'm happy with it.


Oh, and pretty cool Fractals there, Foefighter!

Lol nice work Jabba and Fingerfood. Jabba I love the shadowing you did on that planet! Anyway just made 2 more images for a clan. I'm just posting the image, don't worry, not trying to advertise it or anything.

Gradient Flare+Supernova FTW!

here's something i made quickly for no apparent reason: and here, going with the flow, is my first planet-scape i hope you like them... i'm still new to GIMP but i believe i am learning fairly quickly

EDIT: I put in stars now, i just used the smallest brush and made a few dots, but is there any way to make them look more real? i've seen some people pics on here with more real looking stars, so i'd like to figure out how to do that myself

EDIT2: made another space scape, thank you FingerFood for the tip with noise, i didn't even know noise could do stuff like that! and here is my spacescape, i have no idea why I put that supernova on the edge of the planet, but I'll just go with it's a nuke and the planet is doomed sorry for bad gif quality

I just made dots on the first one, but on the second large one, I used Noise. It's one of the Filters, play around with it.

Cool spacescape! The camo only took about 5 mins cus it's just some clouds with clouds with a threshold thingy, some custom fill effect I'd already made and grunge brushes. The abstrat art I learnt from a long tut and the text was a bit annoying so that took about 20 mins.

I've just finished my (in my opinion) greatest SpaceScape yet!
I put in a Ship, The Delta Flyer, from Star Trek, Voyager, as well as putting in a picture of Saturn, that all came out quite well:


and also including a little sloppy-ness from the smudge tool.... oh well its cool anyways.

Not bad! I like what you did with saturn and that planet alot. You could maybe make the background abit darker though. Also a tip instead of smudging; select some of the back end of the ship and use Filters/Blur/Motion Blur. Nice work with the suns as well.

I tried the motion blur first, but when i got it back to the supernova the ship wasn't recognizable, so i went with smudge instead. I've already though of cleaner looking ways to do the smudge i just haven't thought of a new pic to implement them on.

Here's a sunrise I did... not quite happy with it, especially the sky, but it's a start.

I assume they are brushes, if so, could you give me a link for them please?
