Is it possible to make regions of light where it is dark outside but inside the corridors it is lighter? do i have to add a directional light thing without shadows?

You need to place a shadow region but with light. Just look at the stock coruscant or any indoor stock map, and look at the shadow regions.

Shadow regions are the same as light regions but with the top ambient color values added.

That was wasted. let me rephrase, we want the MODEL of the building in the region to be lighter, yes we know that shadow regions allow you to have the units brighter.

Are you talking about something like this?
You can't make "dark" in this game, you can only make light. We use low lights (or deep-colored lights) to make the appearance of low lighting. All you do, then, to make the appearance of a lighter region in a darker region is to have a brighter light nested in a darker light.

So to do that i made a shadow region inside a corridor that i want lighter than the light outside the hallway on the planet. I changed the ambiant light to176,248,253 for top and 116,238,248 for bottom and its a shadow region. it this right? and if so will the lighting change show up on ZE?

You don't do anything with shadow regions - read what was written:
All you do, then, to make the appearance of a lighter region in a darker region is to have a brighter light nested in a darker light.

Intersecting lights don't always show up like they should. I don't know specifically what you did, but I know that when I use two (infinite) directional lights and bound one inside a lightbounds, ZE doesn't show it correctly. Check ingame before you get too concerned about what lights in ZE look like.
