Felucia: Factory Siege (Beta Anounced)

hey all my next map is almost at beta stage so i thought i would announce a WIP as well as some screenies. This map occurs when the 27th clone legion discovers a hidden magna guard factory on felucia, instead of infiltration and bombardment they choose to push a full scale land invasion hoping to surprise and overwhelm the CIS. however the droid's knew they were coming and what fallowed was a bloodbath comparable only to geonosis.

the map itself is only half done but the sides and units are almost complete the map atm has 4 cp's but will probably have 8 in the final version.

"can i have that one yellowish clone skin plz" if you need assets that are not made by me please contact their respected owners or look for them in the relesed assets thread. assets will be avalable once the beta comes out.

Looks very nice. Skins look a little... painted, but that might have been your intent, I don't know. I look forward to downloading the final version. :thumbs:

im not great at doing skins and im still having a few issues with the map aka floating icons and the ion/plasma grenades not working properly but other then that i hope to have the beta within a week, no promises though.

Looks neat, I'm not a fan of the Felucia planet, but I like this map.

Are those words in the screenies gonna be in the map?? Or did you just do that?

The skins look good and stuff, but could you make a mode just with skins of the 607th legion.

its not my first map and the words are just there cas i added them for a bit of a funny sorry bout that i had been modding for 10 hours strait and thought it would be funny. anyway my first map is Acadamy part1 Siege of Bestine im still working on part 2 (hoping for 6 parts). i'm not sure im going to use the 607th skins cas i said in the description that the clones were the 23rd legion (which i came up with). i may use 607th skins for the venguard and captain cas i couldn't think of a unique skin for them. also any sudgestions for what to do with the CIS? droids don't really have different color schemes so what would you guys like to see from the CIS?

Eh, I'm not a CIS person so I don't really care.

But I don't think the Republic Commando should be painted pink... And the pink looks as though someone kissed him...

Not a bad start, but I would try to make the terrain look more natural and less sculpted, that ''sandbar'' looking hill is one.
Also, vary the ground texture, and change the sky, Yavin is very much overused. Considering its Felucia, I would add more plants/fungi to it just to give it a better jungle feel.

ok the commando used to be red then i tried to make it look battleworn so i think ill just make him orange like delta 38 and im a currently working on the terrain. as for the sky however i am reluctant to using felucia sky because many of my units work best at long range and felucia sky features cut visibility to almost nothing

the fog or visbility has nothing to do with the felucia sky(texture)

Uh... 607th you mean 327th. The 607th is Xavious' map series.

Pretty good map, but I agree with the sky, fog doesn't come with it.

Use the blend tool for terrain, so its not all blockish. Also, instead of paint brushing the skins, use the square select or something, and go to the tab up top in gimp with color select/ hue saturation/ lightness/ contrast and mess with that. Thats almost all that I do to my skins. And if you do paint, first surround the area you want with the color carefully, and fill that entire area up with the color paint you want. Then use a color just a bit darker and paint in some areas with it, and then use the blend tool.

The sky file has fog in it, remove those lines and you'll see fine. And adjust the view distance also.

Looks pretty cool. I like the idea of a shielded, vibroblade-wielding Jet Trooper. But, that RC does kinda look like he's been kissed by someone with a lot of makeup :amidala: but I like the idea of a colored RC. looking forward to this map.

off-topic: if i remember correctly, the 607th was a custom made legion mappack dinghy done by Xavious right?
