Ok, this is probably a really noob question, but when I open up addon/***/data/lvl_pc/side/*** in notepad ++ I get all of this small boxes saying dle and nul. Is this normal, or am I just to weak to stand them .
Anyways, any help with this would be appreciated.

There is a link for a hex editor in here, in the Model (MSH) section.

Thanks, but after dling that editor and loading it up I noticed that I really don't know wth I am doing. I am trying to a a new unit into my map, and the documentation to the best of my understanding tells me to go there (as in the side and mission lvl.) after I munge my file. Am I right. And if so, why does the text not look organized in any of the editors or notepads like it did in the doc?

There's also a Hex Editor plugin that you can get for Notepad++
http://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/

Which documentation are you referring to? You should just use the modtools to munge new lvl files with your new unit.

The doc I am using is jedi creation, and as far as I am concerned, it tells me to edit the lvl. files munged by the mod tools to add my unit into my map, though it makes more since to edit the common script ***c_con. Which should I do. Is there a topic here to help me?

The Jedi Creation doc doesn't have anything to do with hex editing.. Unless you're referring to something other than the one included with the mod toolds?
