Gametoast's second annual Christmas Avatar Contest is just around the corner, so get your photo editing software up and ready to kick some butt. We are still working out the details, so more to come. I am looking for a volunteer to moderate the contest, so if you are a current staff member or a veteran GT Member (1+ yrs) and will not be entering the contest, please PM me if you are interested in taking the position. CarbineImpulse did a fine job last year and we are looking for someone who can fill his shoes.

Also, those with last year's rank awards will revert to normal about a week before voting time. We have decided to keep this year simple, so there will only be one category (Best Christmas Avatar) and maybe three runner-ups. As I said details are still being worked out, so things may change. I'll keep y'all informed.

for help I guess we should introduce GIMP to the community so that they won't need to use lousy Microsoft Paint

you could also download the trial version of Adobe(tm) Photoshop CS3(tm) at http://www.photoshop.com

Care to download it for a time that you really need it, you only get 30 days, so you should download it maybe a day before the contest airs. I guess most of you may just search for a keygenerator on the net, wich is probably the dumbest thing you can do, about 98% of these are usually viruses, I lost my computer to this before(wouldn't start up, so we had to reinstall XP itself!), so I bought the legal version instead, trust me, keep it legal, way better.

Probably busy with real life. He was one of the older members, so family issues may have come up. I haven't talked to him in a long while, so I'm not sure.

It will be Star Wars related. (Dang it, and I'm not entering this year. Got a good one.) If you want a head start, go ahead. But remember, things can still change as everything is still being worked out (which might lead to more work for ya).

Way too busy. I'm moving into my new house in a week and with the packing, unpacking, setting the place up, preparing for thanksgiving, possible surgery (if the dang surgical nurse ever gets back to me with a dang date), then Christmas, I'll be lucky to admin the forums much less participate.

But don't worry about it kids, O.K.?
Just tune in, turn off, drop out, drop in, switch off, switch on, and explode.

obviously Photoshop(IMO) but the thing is Photoshop is not free, while GIMP is!(and if you want the trial for photoshop, you may have to sign up for membership on the download site)

There is Gimpshop, but I just tried it on a mac and wasn't impressed. Might be better on the PC. It is supposed to be hybrid of gimp and photoshop. (Gimp gear towards photoshop users).

I have no idea, but Hebes would be suited for the job if no one else has gotten it yet.

We already have people designated to run it, all been worked out for a while now.

However, I would suggest not to keep nudging people to answer you.

To enter, simply use your entry as your avatar, and post in this thread saying that that is your entry.

And no, you probably can't submit more than one entry, as you can't use two avatars at the same time.
