Here's an Idea:
If you need some action or somewhat near the begining of the mission, you could use ambush regions and put in some thugs that try to jump you or something. For a boat, I'd just use a skiff from BF1

@Linus
Cool. I'll get back to you when I actually know what I'll need. :wink:

@Bac-Talan and Others
A "skiff" huh? I guess I'll have to download the mod tools for BF1 then. I've never played BF1 at all, so I hope the msh file for the skiff is named in an obvious fashion. Thanks guys. As to the action near the beginning, the areas outside the town have a violent wookie tribe roaming around. You may run into one or two of the tribe's members on your way from the landing pad to the town walls.

@Everyone
I haven't gotten much further into the actual mission yet (I've been fixing a few problems with the helper functions) and it is still at a very early stage, but because of the "complex" nature of this project, if possible I would like to have it tested during the several stages of it's construction. So would anyone be willing to become an Alpha (the completely unfinished stage) tester for this thing?

Keep in mind that this is type of testing won't be much "fun". The first version will only have the basic functionality in place, and the more improved versions might take a while before they are ready to be tested (I will be coming back to the same people to test again). Also I would ask that you not release any info that might be considered a "spoiler". The mission may not be the most involving in the world, but it has it's secrets. People who have had some modding experience of their own are preferred (since they will know what is possible to do with the engine when making suggestions).

Right now and for the time being, I would mostly just like some people to actually try the "features" and give some input as to what they think. The "real" testing will come later so be prepared for that when the time comes.

Sure! Having a unique looking bartender (different from the rest of the civilians) would certainly add to the effect. :D

Hey I am willing Alpha test. :) If you wan't me. :wink: But I have one question if I do alpha test for you about how big will the files be? I am on dial-up and because of such I can only download files less than 100MB. By the way I love your hero support script.

Im also stuck in the dial-up hole :( . Theres some programs you can download to help though. I use DAP.

http://www.download.com/Download-Accele ... 37157.html

It speeds downloading up, manages it, is free and has resume- which
allows you to resume a download if your connection goes down. (so if it goes down at 50%, you can get back on the net and restart at 50%). NOTE: resume doesnt work on all web sites, like filefront for example.

This RPG/BFII style your making archer is going to awesome.
But why is the jedi in one of the pics holding a blaster? (maybe its the "talk gun"?)

Oh. OH. OOOH. That's an extraordinary look.
Just two little suggestions: his beard looks like paint - change that, it should blend better and have several minor irregularities.

And the exposed chest looks...strange. Some breast hair (can somebody say "Austin Powers" ? :mrgreen:) would indeed make this barkeeper an easily recognisable unit.

I can say Austin Powers. Austin Powers.

Okay, I'll edit it right away...

Ugh, no offense but that bartender looks horribly unfinished. I'm not sure whether you updated it or not but his beard still looks like paint, the mustache is too big (in my opinion) and the shirt looks like it's been painted over. The hair colour doesn't really match the beard either.

It's better, but the mustache doesn't really capture a hairy feeling to it; maybe I'm just being too picky. The shirt also looks super shiny considering it's made of a fabric-like material.

That Jedi looks like he's got sunburn all over his face, LOL.

You're right, that's the first person I thought of when I saw that skin. Great job, MasterSaite!

And as for the map, I can't wait...it sounds more like a full-fledged game-within-a-game...I don't think I'd be a very good Alpha-tester since I have very little modding experience, but I'll definitely help you in beta-testing.

When you say the villagers are minding their own buisness, what are they doing? Are they just standing, or are the travelling in a sort of circuit, or do you have another idea for villagers? I ask becuase I might want to maybe have locals do that in my map. Although, I'll probably just have them run for there lives off the map.

I'm also making a storyline map, but not with all you're rpg goodness. Prolly just an explanitory cutscene and standard objective messages.

Also, how did you get a team yellow? Teancum could use it for the conversion pack. Or anyone with neutral teans, in fact.
