BRILIANT IDEA!
THIS could make the Battle ALLOT more cool.
although the Frigates wouldnt have shps in the hanger cause of mobile Vehiclespawn regions and stuff i COULD make like turrets in the ships so you can actualy have like 8 people flying a capitol ship
the only problem is that you can ONLY spawn when its landed

but still this would make for some kick Diet Dr. Pepper action.
i can imagen like 300 bots a team with 6 frigates and 2 cap ships the frigates flying and attackingwhile being swarmed by fighters

anti fighter turrets firing while they begin attack on a incoming Victory Stardestroyer.
oh would be so cool

progress:
working on a Mon Calamari MC 80 Liberty, its nearly complete
jsut a few bugs with the shadow collision works fine
and also the slight mistake that its about 4 times as big then it should be
when i fixed that i will probably be doing a better interdictor and a Victory Class SD.
also going to make turrets for each ship
btw does anyone of you know HOW to add a detail texture??
like on the ISD when your close to it u see the detail in the hull and all.

Who says that the frigate itself must be the command post from which you spawn?
what if inside the the ship interior, you place another vehicle which is a command vehicle? This vehicle would also have to obey the laws of local space. (If not, maybe instead set up a anim heirarchy so it would move with the frigate.)

There's one related thing I've been wondering about a while... how exactly vehicle spawns work. Because if you could make a vehicle spawn a chunk of a larger vehicle and set parameters for the chunk in the ODF so that it spawns a vehicle without a control region or uses a control region that contians the entire battlefield... then flying capital ships would be quite possible.
Also, if a "warning object" system works (xwingguy, you might remember that), with the warning objects as chunks, you could set up a hanger in the bottom of a star destroyer and get fighters out of the moving ship without a massive death toll.

that is a very nice victory SD!!
this may have been asked but where is the hangar located on the victory in you model,
this is so awesome, i cant wait to see it in some new maps!!

If the interior of the ship is a part of the vehicle model then an interior would be doable.
(Like how dooku or mace can ride on the back of an atte.)
What sucks is that we're still stuck. The only way to do that is to make it all one mesh, which means thousands and thousands of polys -- probably greater than 10k. And portals/sectors won't work on vehicles. Only props.

You could try classifying prop objects etc as soldiers (with no weapons speed or rotation) that spawn from a 3rd side on preplanned nodes. Though this would probably work only for props. Skyhawk once made props that moved around when bumped into, and in a map by Chamboozer(?) there we're unit models that we're nothing but objects, but that flinched and moved when pushed, the map was called Seperatist Cruiser: Sabotage. All this was BF1 though, but that stuff is still the same AFAIK.

yes the VSd is PRACTICLY done.
i need a couple of things done
i wont release the ships JSUT yet because all of them are for the ultimate battlefront mod.
i already have an arnagements with Xwinguy about the models.
you can contact me about the models and then il probably give some of them but as far as public release. Not yet

Update:
The ISd is almsot compelte i have to make a few minor things like new subsystem stuff.
The new WAY better interdictor is also nearing completion
the sizes are now ACURATE
the Stock isd is 1000M (stated in a interview)
the NEW isd is the acurate 1600M and a correian corvette fits in the botto hanger

the bottom hanger is also the only hanger
The VSD is nearly the size of the stock ISD the VSD is 900 M (acurate)
the interdictor is also scaled correctly.
BOTH THE VSD AND INTERDICTOR ARE DESTTROYABLE FRIGATES.

Woh! You've been working hard I see

. What I'm most happy with is the fact that the hangars will be at the bottom. I can't wait! Is there any chance of screenshots? I'd love to see what they look like.
