I don't want to have a big download for this mod if I get the same thing I can download faster from somewhere else. I won't get this unless you can make some significant modifications to that map and make some new ones.
:? you can't get all of this anywhere else

we aren't making significant modifications to any maps, (maybe some planning, vehicles and locals)

Ooh, nice map update. I'm really liking all these different colored Stormtrooper commanders.

He's talking about the maps, all of which you can get somewhere else. You have six or seven "extra" maps that are really just unnecessarily inflating the filesize, because they can all be downloaded basically as-is. You'd knock the size of your mod in half if you simply made addon eras/modes to those maps and just mention (in a readme somewhere) that they could be used with this mod.

Wrong.

When was the last time you played Ryloth: Canyon, or this Felucia: Deep Jungle?

My mistake. The vast majority of which you can get somewhere else. The point still stands, I think - if you're just re-releasing a bunch of maps so that you can say "oh hey we have a bunch of maps" then it's unnecessary waste. You can save a lot of space and make it easier on all your downloaders if you just add in scripts.

yeah but think: many people dont know make mods, and is more easy download this mod with map incluided also because many maps wasnt release his assets :)

? That's not even relevant. You don't have to know how to make mods to use what I'm suggesting. All it does is prevent anyone who's already downloaded the map (and probably these are the people that would like it enough to keep it anyway) from having to download it a second time. It gives a better option to control the size of the download for the user, which is especially important if you're not giving something significantly new (on the map end of things).

You cause zero compatibility problems, there is no bearing on whether assets are released, you don't have to know how to make mods, etc. I'm just guessing, but with those maps added (just the ones you have listed) you're probably talking about a 500 MB download, easy. Reducing it to just the couple of legitimately new maps there are and making the rest script addons turns that 500MB download into a ~100MB download.

Well, some people (like me) don't have those maps; I'd rather download the whole thing all at once, than go map hunting. I do understand your point, though, and I agree that it is a waste of download time for those who do have them.

So... I'll repeat my suggestion:

There you go, everyone is happy!

Would it be so much extra work to allow for the included maps to be downloaded seperately? If I get the full version and some of the maps crash (a common occurrence with some map packs, like Dark Space and BF:0,) they are needlessly taking up space on my HD and I cannot remove them. Just a thought.

We are going with Mav's suggestion (thanks for the help :D ) and adding the new stuff (locals, mini-maps, and new vehicles spawns) in a separate layer. that way you only get the other maps if you D/L them.

@Eaol: you don't want it, you don't have to get it.

@everyone else: This issue is settled and I would appreciate it if we ended the discussion. ;)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. :D

UPDATE:

We are going with Mav's suggestion (thanks for the help :D ) and adding the new stuff (locals, mini-maps, and new vehicles spawns) in a separate layer; that way you only get the other maps if you D/L them.

The only maps that will be included in the download are: Ryloth, Raxus Prime, Geonosis: Canyons, maybe Sky's map, Felucia: Deep Jungle, and the 2 BF1 Rhen Var maps by AQT and DEVISS.

The others (Rori, Mimban, Mustafar: Blazing Gorge, Geonosis: Point Rain, etc...) can be downloaded seperetly. I will only include Takera, Corellia, and Dathomir in the D/L if TK hasn't released them.

However, if you are one of the people who was planning to send me your map assets, please do it anyway; that way I can easily add the stuff I want (mostly vehicle spawns) in. ;)

I want my map back, please. I could of released it separately if I wanted to.

Edit: I mean, I don't really understand what you are doing, and just don't release my map.
