Installing Mod Tools [Solved]

I downloaded the Star Wars Battlefront II mod tools yesterday, and I'm trying to run the installer.
I am running Windows Vista, so after a while it asks me the verify the publisher/ask me if I want to run it. I click allow.

I understand that it takes a while for the installer to start due to the sheer size of the mod tools, but I've been waiting for just over half an hour with nothing happening, and was wondering if that was normal, or something is not working...

Thank you for your time and help :)

Umm....I'm pretty sure half an hour is a biiiiit too long. There's obviously something wrong, so don't bother waiting any longer..i don't know much about vista, but have you tried running it with admin privileges or whatever its called....also, try compatibility mode if that doesn't work....but i don't see why it shouldn't work. Do you have any firewall prgrams running?

These things can take a while. Wait, and don't do anything else and let the tools install. After 2 hours maybe, then you probably have a problem. If your system is not very good it might take a long time.

Beyond that the tools should work for everyone.

I don't think you understand him. The installer won't even START, let alone install anything.

Unfortunately this is the case, and I tried both running it in compatability mode and as an admin but still no luck. It asks me to verify the publisher and after I allow it, nothing.

As i said before, do you have any firewalls running? They might be blocking the exe from functioning properly...

Sorry, but i don't have any more idea's. The only other thing i can think of is that maybe something went wrong in the download. How big is your exe, out of curiosity?

Perhaps you could try briefly turning off UAC. On Win7 it's Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts\Change User Account Control settings. It should be roughly the same for Vista. Try setting that to "Never notify" and then installing the mod tools; that ought to clear up any security issues you might be having aside from antivirus and admin priviledges.

Aha! Take a look at the file size in this link: http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.co ... s_PC;57352
It should be 538.16 mb's. Your download is incomplete i'm afraid.... Unless we're talking about bf1.

Thank you, that was the problem :D

Had to download it another two times before the entire 535MB downloaded, dunno what's going on there...

But, thanks for all your help!
