I've been excited about the Wii and i want the Wii. But now i cant wait till November!!!! At the site dsrevolution.com they talk about Nintendo stuff and in the headlines was this...
In the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, rumors are abound in all shapes and forms. Although there were many rumors pertaining to all three of the competing consoles, there were a few that could, in fact, change the way people view Nintendo, especially the Nintendo Wii:

- EA is planning on a "massively multiplayer" Burnout but no console specifications were made
- Many of the companies are shifting their focus and games from the PlayStation 3 to the Nintendo Wii for undisclosed reasons
- A new music game is in the works by Harmonix
- Two Star Wars games are in the works for the Nintendo Wii: One being developed by LucasArts which involves wielding a light saber, while the other game is from the Battlefront franchise. Console specifications were not mentioned and Pandemic is not working on the title.

Many have talked about the coming of a Star Wars light saber game just because of how the Nintendo Wii controller is used. The news of Burnout is exciting because whenever EA made the Burnout franchise purchase, they stopped supporting the Nintendo GameCube, after the wonderful Burnout 2. The thing that is the most interesting is the news of companies abandoning the PlayStation 3 for the underpowered Nintendo Wii.

Off-topic : I have equally heard about those Rumours, Moving_Target, and as far as I can remember, they have been all mentioned inside the "Electronic Gaming Monthly" American Magazine. Furthermore, the one concerning the possible conceiving of Star Wars Battlefront III specified that Pandemic Studios would not be in charge of this additional Star Wars Battlefront Title's Development, while omitting to precise what were the exact reasons of this LucasArts Decision...

Personally i think the Wii will kick some serious but. Because Nintendo always comes out with different, wierd, and very cool things like this new controler. I don't care if your a xbox fan because i am but i still want to get the Wii just for and amazing twist on 1st person shooters. by having the abillity to turn your gun gangsta style.

hmm.. ive heard about the light saber wielding wii game, but battlefront 3. i think its too soon. but it should be good on the wii

in addition to a game for all the next gen systems, you should check out Call of Duty 3, where you play the normandy breakout in France.

I think Pandemic have taken Battlefront as dar as they can. Hopefully with a new development team we will see a major improvement in the franchise.

Though what would this mean for us modders if it isn't Pandemic anymore, there could be a chance of not modding? I hope not!

Off-topic : Above all, do not forget that Pandemic Studios has recently merged with BioWare Corporation, and as this last Company provided both Support and Resources to Obsidian Entertainment while it was leading Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II : The Sith Lords' Development, it might not be that surprising to see the "Gas Mask" Firm proceeding so with an additional emerging Specialized Studio, which would surely compete with the one having conceived both Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II earlier.
In that case, I would be almost ready to bet that this brand-new Company would undoubtedly follow the same way as Pandemic Studios, and so, being able to get your hands down on "Modification Tools" intended to Star Wars Battlefront III might not be that unrealizable...

For some odd reason I'd want to say Ubisoft will/may make Battlefront 3. I dont know why exactly, but Ubisoft would be a good developer 4 BF3 (i think). One reason i can think of why Ubisoft may do this is that Ubisoft has put major support behind all three consoles and mainly Wii. Obsidian Entertainment sounds like the most reasonable. In fact i havent even heard of them until Kotor 2 came out. So i dont know how well they'd do. Hopefully great. "Begun the Great Console War has."

great news moving_target. I to cant wait for the wii one of the things I found out about yesterday was the wi-fi internet service that it will offer which is great for me because I have satellite internet.

Off-topic : Frankly speaking, I just hope that Obsidian Entertainment will endeavour in avoiding providing Products having undergone a large removing of specific Stuffs, while knowing that Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II : The Sith Lords is surely one of the most significant samples of this "annoying" Process, which has led to the partial deletion of Cut Scenes being among the most enjoyable ones of the whole video-game, for sample...

Why would they abandon the PS3 in favor of the Wii? Nintendo always seem to bring out a new console at a similar time to another but it is always worse. eg. DS had touch screen, mic. ect. but the games were all rubbish compared to those of the PSP, another example is the gamecube, released with the Xbox and PS2 but lacked in everything including the ability to play DVDs.
So will the Wii just have some novelty idea like the motion sensor but lack capabilities of other consoles? I havent seen the specifications for the Wii though so will it be as good as 360 and PS3 or not?

Basically the two systems are taking different paths. Xbox360 and the PS3 have the same gameplay as last generation (and the generation before) but with better graphics. The Wii is only slightly better in graphics but have a completely new form or gameplay. Plus i think it might be easier to maker games on the Wii due to not having to make relatively-realistic graphics. But mainly ts the capabilities of the Wii.

btw, the PS3 controller made a motion sensor too, which they stole the idea from you know who...

I agree with you Dabrowski. It has been proven that the DS has sold more units than PSP. Also I have seen way better games on the DS than the PSP. And dont say GTA because that sucked too because of bad control setup. Yes we all know the Gamecube sucked (at times ex Melee, Prime, RE 4) but you learn from mistakes not victories!!! Nintendo is doing all the correct things this time around. Also im not sure if this changed but Nintendo is completely competing against SOny and Microsoft. There goal is to be the 2nd console everyone owns. Think about it if 50% own PS3 and 50% own 360 and everyone buys a Wii, the Wii wins. Hell i love my computer but i'd abandon it to play the Wii (sry compy). Think about this would you rather play a game with the best graphics, but with suck gameplay and story? or play a game with good looking graphics and awsome gameplay? Me i choose gameplay over all other things. And Sony is telling lies about the "ooo we've been working on motion sensor 4 years." ooo please! If you guys have been why did you show it at E3 05? eh?!?!?! Another reason developers would abandon the PS3 for the Wii, because they have more freedom and movement with the Wiimote than the PS3 controler. You would be playing twister with your arms with the PS3 controler. Also the Wiimote is similiar (im not saying exact!!!) to the mouse and keyboard. So PC developers would look into the Wii more than the PS3 and 360 if they were look 4 the best controls.

Off-topic : I have to admit that it is rather difficult to accept the fact that Star Wars Battlefront III might be essentially intended toward Next-Generation Entertainment Platforms, since Personal Computers are way far from dropping out the Contest opposing them to Sony® PlayStation 3, Microsoft® Xbox 360 and other similar Consoles, since all video-games conceived for such Systems are primarily assembled thanks to our good old PC's, and as those ones are mostly taking advantage of the latest Components and Devices major Specialized Companies usually release publicly, I do not think that they should be so "marginalized", additionally to the fact they are rather wide-spread across the whole World...

yep Nintendo puts the N in fun. But dont discount the fact that there will still be great games on the PS3 and Xbox360.

back on topic. im sure that some sort of jedi game will be made first, which one i dont know. But the new "innovative" aspect to the new games such as in Indiana Jones and the unrevealed star wars game is that the environment is very reactive. If you dont know what i mean, its basically objects in the environment can fall apart and remain that way or something like that...
