Maybe you can use your neimodian units as local sides and maybe the stock white clones. But i'd prefere to see the stock units. And i really mean stock. Not take the stock units from the assets and load them to your map. Just load the stock units from the original SWBFII directory. This way your map/mod will become less size and everyone can change his sides to what he like (evolved,..)

Alternatively, you could release two versions of the map. One with the stock sides and one with your custom sides. Everybody wins.

I love the skin choices, especially for the vehicles. Jazzmaster my friend, those rebel soldier models with the battlefront 1 hex edit are an excellent choice. Im really digging how your handling design choices for this map.

two versions is stupide. But you could look in your directory for the sides lvl file, and if it's not found you take the stock one. So you have only one version and those who prefere to play the stock units only need to remove/delete/rename your side's lvl file

So your solution is to make the user responsible, rather than the creator. But fine, that works too. The point was not to force people to play on stock sides or custom sides.

In my opinion the stock sides are just boring. I always want to play a map a lot more if I see it has custom sides. And the custom sides in this mod look AMAZING! And if the author wants to release two versions, one with stock sides and one with custom, whats wrong with that? It's his mod

Guys...guys...The most simply solution just would be to create two mission.lvl's. The first file reads the sides with custom units and the other file just would read the sides with stock units from the default Bf2 directory.
By the way all these new changes and features look absolutely stunning. Even If I have never played battlefront 2 before and would see this map then I probably think this map is made for a Battlefeont 3 mod. Take all the time you need to finish this. Then it's gonna be perfect.
Until then good job on this map so far

I look forward to this map, I am digging the addition of the female rebel sniper from Battlefront 1.
Also, that other storm trooper from swbf1 with the sniper rifle, his head looks a bit large for his body.
The rest of this mod so far looks fantastic!

I've already put a ton of time and work into balancing my custom sides and making them unique and fun so there's no way I'm going to ditch them for the stock sides at this point. Maybe for a later release I could have the stock cw and gcw eras with stock sides and add my custom sides as their own custom eras. but that's honestly more work than I'm willing to do for a map. Plus I truly feel my sides are going to be fun, if not on par with other side mods as far as weapon and unit mechanics go.
I've made some new changes I thought i should share with you guys. First off, the CIS side got a bit of a make-over. Other than the B1 Battledroid, BX Commando, magnaguard, and the newly added Super Battle Droid, I've changed out the droid units for Neimoidian units instead.

I really want to added a clone trooper style cape to some of the neimoidian units. Would someone want to help me with that? i tried hexing on the cape but the model would crash visualmunge.
BX Commando Droid now has the same E-5 Blaster that the battle droid has, but the commando now moves a lot faster and boasts a Vibrosword.
I forgot that the "special" class wasnt even being used so I added some new unique units!

Im also working on a new Rebel Troop Transport for this map based loosely on that concept art photo for Rogue One and Warb_Null's NTb630 bomber. Right now its having some collision bugs and doesnt have any secondary turrets.

If you compare the new pics to these old once:
you can really see how much work you put in this map.
I like the new gcw z95 cockpit. But maybe you can work a bit more on the arc cockpit.

Im going to have a heart attack...this is looking so awesome The rogue 1 ship...yes! Holy moly, that is a nice touch. Youve been hard on work on the textures for the buildings.

Thanks guys! i'm happy the rebel transport is a hit. I want to add a bubble turret on the top, and an e-web style cannon on each side of the troop bay.

Haha omg, that was so bad. It blows my mind that I thought that was something presentable! We all start somewhere I guess
I do agree that the arc cockpit needs work, just need the motivation to work on it.

I'm going to try adding the cape again this weekend and see what happens. I could've sworn I did it right the first time ( this was a while back. I opened the model up in xsi and the cape was there in the right place) but I might have screwed up somewhere.

hmm I dont think so. I wouldnt mind switching the jet trooper out for a commando with a jetpack like the one in anakins RC mod. I dont think a released version exists though.
Also I have a question for y'all: Since I'm not really feeling the Kota model or the Starkiller models, who would you like to see as a hero for the Rebel Alliance? this is supposed to be pre-A New Hope, so it cant be luke, han, chewie etc.

I would love to see someone from Rebels, but you would need a model for that. I mean you could also have Ahsoka be the Rebel hero, lol.

I agree. And this is coming from someone who's starting to like
Rebels.
