You will stop being a fan of Batman (the movie series? the character?) if Iron Man is a good movie? That makes a whole heap of sense. I don't know what they tell you when you buy your tickets, but you're allowed to like more than one at a time.

I'm pretty sure he meant that Batman wouldn't be his favorite anymore.

Quick stray from the topic since we brought up batman, but apparently Christopher Nolan will be directing a Justice League movie.

IGN tears down the video scene by scene. Didn't really see anything I hadn't already caught, but neat nonetheless.

Just got back from seeing it. Lived up to the precedent that the first movie set up. The "Hammer" guy was hilarious
Hidden/Spoiler:
especially with is dorky dance moves he used when he tried to imitate Stark's announcement
Oh, and Ivan was a good villain. You really didn't know what to expect from him at times.

I got two free movie tickets from my gramma from my birthday and I want to go see this but then again I also want to see Prince of Persia... that movie looks epic.

I thought Ivan was underused, he was more of a supporting character than an actual villain; the "hammer guy" was funny, but I didn't like him that much. The other characters were also underused, Tony Stark was awesome, but everyone else was kind of shoved aside, Scarlet Johanson was there just to look pretty.
Cool movie, though.

Can't wait for Thor.

I'm a bit upset with the way they seem to be presenting Justin Hammer, because I've only ever read of him in ultimate spiderman, and he was this grouchy old man, but I'll see if my doubts hold up at 7:30.

I don't think it's very true to the comic portrayal at all, but for the movie he was an effective piece of comedy relief, and he was at his best when he was trying his hardest (and failing) to be Tony Stark.

OMG. I KNOW! Seriously me and my friends thought it was the coolest thing.

Also the movie was cool. I liked it. Didn't wow me as much as the first one, but it was still cool.

The filmmakers knew we'd be distracted, which is why Tony moved it. Loved that part.
Overall I thought the movie was great and even better than the original in some regards. I've heard a lot of people say the contrary but I disagree. All of the new characters and various subplots didn't drag the film down -- it was all pretty fluid. I've heard complaints about the lack of action in the middle of the movie but it didn't bother me at all. That's when things slowed down and we really got to spend some time with the characters, who were all played wonderfully by their respective actors/actresses. The characters were compelling enough that I didn't need non-stop action to keep my attention. Plus the slow middle portion provided an excellent build-up for the finale.
My only real complaint would be how quickly they defeated Ivan. That was a little disappointing.

Yeah it was;

But in this case, less is better, Iron Man and War Machine had many weapons and gadgetry at their disposal and they outnumbered Whiplash, who was armed only with his electric whip-thingies (granted that they were very powerful, but not practical against people with ranged weapons) and equipped with an inferior armor, the heroic duo would gain the upper hand eventually.
It's a good thing the writers decided to end the fight with Stark and Rhodes doing a cooperative effort, by using the same attack which once marked their struggle, but now symbolizing team work. Short, but straight to the point.

Best part:
Hidden/Spoiler:
The Iron Man Mark IV vs the Mark II suit when Stark was drunk and Rhodey suited up in the Mark II
My only complaint was that Justin Hammer was really over the top. If they would have turned him down a notch or two it would've been perfect. Oh, and my wife loved Black Widow (Natasha). I did too, but for different reasons.

I felt that Iron Man 2 is like Empire Strikes Back where it does the right thing with the sequel. Expanding on character development and give reason to why the events happen. I loved the first and now the second.
Iron Man being overshadowed by Dark Knight was unfortunate but Diet Dr. Pepper was Dark Knight deep and excellent. I can't wait for the third.
I know I'll start wars with this, but whatever. I think Iron Man 2 was way better than Avatar.

I was thinking the exact same thing watching the movie. It just seemed like that right placement in the "trilogy".

I noticed two possible hints in the first movie today:
When Stark is undermining Rhodes in front of his soldiers, he calls the "man" Ivan.
The two F-22 fighter pilots use the names Whiplash One/Two.

Hmm, I don't know, it's entirely possible that they were planning to use him as the next villain and were hinting at it, but it may be just a coincidence, I recall hearing the name Mandarin (or something related) in the first movie and we didn't see him in the sequel, so maybe they were just using the names of random Iron Man villains.
I do think we will see Mandarin in the Avengers movie, probably as a member of the obligatory evil alliance of super powered criminals.
