.skp to XSI [Solved]

I recently downloaded a model of master chief's helmet. It's relatively low-poly by the looks of it, and I found it was in .skp format. I changed its extension to .zip and it won't open. Why is this so?
NOTE: There was no .dae option when I downloaded it.

Because you can't just go around changing file extensions.

Well, I knew that, but I had figured that the tutorial was gonna be the same as it is for .kmz, and I thought you had to change the extension for that.

If you were able to use that same method for skp files then it would've been mentioned somewhere in the tutorial.

Open the skp file with SketchUp then export it as Google Earth 4 model *kmz then change the extension to zip and extract the contents.
