Heyho!
Here is it! My Hoth: The Empire Strikes back! I allready wanted to release it last week but a PC cable was damaged so I had to wait till the computer was repaired(I first thought my coputer was dead and all my files were gone, but luckily it was just a cable. I nearly had a heart attack xD.)It´s almost finished and there will be a final soon. I hope you feel like in the Ep5 movie and enjoy it.

My Naboo: Siege of Theed will be released next...

-Maveritchell: koltotank and helping me to make the  probedroid explode
JabbaLovesLava: disruptor rifle model
-Eddie and Squippel: some assets from their assets pack
-Foolis:helping me with the map and the wampa skin
-Majin Revan: DH-17 Blaster Pistol-,SoroSuub X45 Sniperrifle-, DLT rifle- and EE3 Carbine-Model
-Dark Mask: Model for the crates on the imperial base
-Broken Hope: Sabre hilts
-Pvt parts:almost all effects and his naboo maps made me want to make movielike   maps too
-Syth: Class A thermaldetonator explosioneffect and model and the fragmentation grenade model
-Teancum: Mark2 repeating blaster Turret model (also destroyed gemometry)
-WideBoy: Modelpack


Bugs:-explosion of the turrets has to be fixed
      -if you zoom with a sniperrifle, the wookiee bowcaster or the electrobinoculars on an AT-AT, the map sometimes crashes.

Final coming soon...

Installation:
-Unpack the ALM folder and place it in your programms/lucas arts/game data/addon folder
(Just delete the ALM folder if you don´t want to have the map anymore)

FINALLY!!! i was waiting for this forever

just played it and really loved the map layout, BUT:
-one-hit-one-kill :x i know it makes it realistic, and i liked it in your coruscant map, but it ruins the gameplay on this map, it makes the whole battle concentrated in one single point and you are not able to see other parts of the map, moreover you can whipe out an entire army with a single blaster rifle in a couple of seconds... oh and did i mentioned that it makes me angry when i get killed after running a VERY long distance without even noticing who killed me

-make the blaster bolts bigger, they are too small that you can barely see them (the same is about the coruscant map)

-and more snowspeeders

-when i zoomed in with rebel sniperrifle the map crashed

so again: the map layout is awesome, the gameplay needs some work


EDIT: after playing it again i noticed that there are enough snowspeeders (if you are in at-at :P ), but it crashes when you try to zoom in with at-at


EDIT2: im taking my words about the gameplay back, after turning the reinforcement points up to 500 the were something like 10000 imps against 8000 rebels (i mean reinforcements), so i grabbed a simple snowtrooper and made many kills (to unlock darth vader of course :P ), then i tried to capture the wampa cave, but it seems to be uncapturable, then i run to the nearest rebel cp and it was the entrance to the tunnel system, there i realized that darth vader has become an absolute killing machine, so i managed to capture all the cps in the tunnels and fight and kill luke once :yes:
while i was cleaning in the tunnels the main forces managed to capture the main rebel position (i mean the one cp in the middle of the map) and after 20 seconds we won
AWESOME!!!!
at the end i had about 750 points


one minor bug: it is snowing in the tunnels

1.)I don´t like fat laserbolts. The gun openings of the rifles can´t shoot very big bolts i think.
2.)There can be 12 Snowspeeders at a time, like in the movie.
3.)The Zoomcrash is very annoing. It just happens when you zoom on an ATAT, i don´t know why. It´s a Matrix error. I tried to make the sight distance of the sky lower but i doesn´t solve the problem... Maybe it doesn´t happen if you lower the sight distance in the BF2 options. You can try that, maybe it works. I never had that problem with the ATAT zoom but that´s maybe because i don´t play as ATAT that often.
4.)Yes, the Wampa Cave is uncapturable.
5.)There is a way to remove the snow in the tunnels but i don´t know it. Maybe I can find something about it in the Everythingyouneed-Thread...

To remove snow from tunnels, you have to make rainshadow regions. You cant rotate them though.

I played through it and thought it was pretty good. :D What effects did you use for the snowspeeders exp? They look ausome!

:eek: i mean :eek: i mean :eek: i mean :bowdown: i LOVE this map. definitely one of my top 3 favorite maps. its exactly like the movie, everything realistic, everything id want in a hoth map. its perfect. nothing id want to add or remove or change. absolutely perfect for a hoth map. this is sooo fun and i love it. lol awesome job bantha!! xD

This is a very good map, especially for a beta. The combat was great, and there were plenty of vehicles. I really felt like I was an Imperial snowtrooper assaulting the base of the those rebel scum. The wampa cave was cool, but I didn't get to see much of the map, as the main battle was in the center of the map. Also, both sides have to walk a great distance to get to the battle, and once you die, you have to walk all the way again. even vehicles don't help too much. But overall, this was a good, fun map. (i'll hold off on a specific number rating til the final).

It´s made by pvtparts but you can find it in the jawakiller kashyyyk assets. It´s name is "ugr_sfx_veh_exp".

You should use a speederbike or a tauntaun for big distances. They´re qick and don´t take much time to get from a to b.
