What is the max number of vehicles you can have in a map?

I think, there's no limit, I played a map with nearly 30 vehicles! :)

There's definitely a limit. SWBF1 had one, and it's just good coding from a developer's standpoint to make one. However, the limit seems to be lots more than it was in SWBF1 since bigger mod space maps tend to have 20-40 ships flying at once.

Thanks, think it was 32 or 36 (all up) for SWBF1. Is there any known way to increase it?

There's no nice way to say this, and this isn't directed at anyone in particular, but why in the freakin' world would you EVER need more than 20 vehicles max aside from space? Everyone's trying to come up with these cool new things in maps like stuff like this ends up ruining the map in the end. Focus on gameplay guys, not stuffing in as much crap as possible. :roll:

Why would you need more than 20? You just said why Tean, for space. And I agree that really you don't need anything like that number for a ground map.

In my map i wanted it to be realistic. haveing 4 seperate spawns with a big timer one rather with a limit of 4 pumping out vehicles. No bigy though i can change that easy.

I'd love to know that! I tried making one but it just stays in one spot and doesn't shoot at anything.

More on-topic: I found that having 50 vehicles in my Battle of Geonosis made it more unstable, when I decreased the vehicle count down to 36 it drastically improved the overall stability of the map. But then, I had about 900 units running around as well, so maybe with only 200 units on the field, 50 vehicles might be stable.

It's like with objects. There's no specific number limit, but the number of vehicles adds to the "ListPool" which is basically scripting memory. Vehicles themselves are a type of object, it's just that they have a lot of script to them so they take up much more memory than typical objects. CPS too take up a good deal of space, as well as extraneous LUA scripting (like for a Campaign mode or one of Mav's cool modes like Race mode). Custom Sides take up scripting memory too. In Boras II: Stunt Course, I was able to have about 48 vehicles spawns with 1-2 Spawn Count for each vehicle spawn object. But I had a massive amount of objects in the map, probably something like 200-300, plus 12 CPS. I remember at one point before I added tons of custom sides and more objects, I was able to have around 64 vehicle spawns each with around 1-5 Spawn Count.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it would work. It did for a while on my computer until I increased the unit count so high.
