How do I make ODFs for SWTCW assets? [Solved]

Post by Lorul1 »

hello. quick question about the star wars the clone wars (for xbox) assets located here viewtopic.php?f=64&t=25926.
I am trying to get the cis lander to work, and i need help. Because the pack is full of msh's and not odf's, i need to convert them and i have no clue how (i know its posible though). I know that there is a odf creator named pfwskips odf creator but i have no idea how to use it. If anyone can please tell me how to use that mesh creator, or tell me (or link me) to a guide on how to make prop odfs from msh's it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :maulsaber:

You don't make ODFs from MSHs. ODFs are just text files that you edit in Notepad. Just simply make a copy of an existing stock prop ODF, and rename it to the name of the MSH you want to create the ODF for. Then open up this ODF file up, and change its GeometryName to the name of the MSH.

Yeah, pfwskip's ODF Creator is a quick and easy way to create prop ODFs for MSH files that don't have one.

pfwskip's ODF Creator usage tips:
  • 1. Extract the contents of odfCreator.zip to: BF2_ModTools\data_ABC\Worlds\ABC
    2. The contents are odfCreator.exe and log.txt
    3. Drop your *.msh and *.tga files in: BF2_ModTools\data_ABC\Worlds\ABC\msh folder
    4. Launch the odfCreator.exe, ODFs are now created for all *.msh files that didn't have one
    5. The new ODFs will be in your: BF2_ModTools\data_ABC\Worlds\ABC\odf folder
    6. Place the objects in ZeroEditor using your newly generated ODFs
    7. Munge and play!

Thank you do much they work. Mesa just haves one more question about thems, because there is a glitch. When I loaded in the modles from the clone wars geonosis, they arnt visable from far away, but everything else is. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks for your help so far :)
