Castle Mod & Poll

I have decide I'm going to make a castle mod. (Mid-evil)
However, I'm torn between :
One castle and an attacking outpost
Two castles sending out units to attack
Which do you think would be more appealing gameplay-wise?

A bit more details would be nice, what do you mean by "castle mod" what can we expect from it? What kind of gameplay are you trying to make?

It's a med-evil castle (big walls, crossbows, etc.) and I know there will be at least one castle. I want to know wheter the GT community will find a two-castle or once-castle setup more entertaining. After all, that's why people mod.

Not to ruin your fun, but do you actually have the models/resources to pull this off? Because there have been several projects like this before, and they all pretty much went down the tubes due to various issues.

If you really wanted, you could make one of each. Have one game mode (conquest?) be a single castle seige and another game mode be two castles battling for dominance (2-flag ctf?). If you were planning on doing more than one mode anyway, your mission count would be the same, but this is double the fun!

Great Idea!, except I was going to use terrain walls for much of my outer castle. Isn't terrain cross-layer?

Yes, terrain is usually on all the layers. Though I think it's a bad idea to use terrain for the castle walls, there's simply no way to not make all the ground textures look stretched on the "walls". It'd be best if you'd learn to make the models in blender or XSI yourself.

Sounds like a cool idea, but for starters, you need to know how to spell what youre talking about. The word is spelled Medieval. (lol, mid-evil

Wow! could you please upload those xav? i never knew they were there and i might be able to use them. Also, a bit offtopic, but he says later in the post that he released some tunnels and other assets. would you happen to have any of his other models. If you haven't got them or couldn't be bothered to upload them thats fine, i just like to keep a big collection of peoples models if i think i might use them later.
do you know if he ever finished the models in that pack? because in his last post he said that the models are unfinished and that he would update them.

He uploaded them all at the time of the post. The link has expired, but I reuploaded them into one archive and fixed the link. Make sure to give credit to the author if you use the models.

Thanks heaps for that Mav! Sorry for dragging this so offtopic, but i really liked the look of those models.
I would personally prefer two castles, although it would take quite a lot longer and a lot more effort than one castle, especially if they are both totally different castle layouts/design...
