Munge fix differences

Hello GT, modding noob here.

I just installed BF2Modtools for the second time (tried it once a few years ago, but only for a couple of hours), and I was looking for the munge fix, and found out there were now two options available: one by Frisbeetarian (the one I previously used), and one by Marvel4.

I read both posts, but being the noob I am, I don't understand what the fixes do differently. I was hoping someone could clear that up for me.

Cheers!

To put it simply:
Frisbeetarian's files get your project to munge properly.
Marvel4's files will get your project to munge properly and correctly munge (and clean) and move your sound files, loadscreens, common.lvl, ingame.lvl, and inshell.lvl if you need it to. Marvel4's files are an all around fix.

If you aren't munging a custom common.lvl, ingame.lvl or inshell.lvl you can comment out lines 125-130 in:
data_ABC\_BUILD\Common\munge.bat
to keep unneeded files out of your compiled project.

So I should just install his version then? If I understood correctly it's the same as Frisbeetarian's fix, but improved.

I would (and did), but it's up to you. :)

One more thing: how do I get Marvel“s munge fix to work? With Frisbeetarian you extract the files to the BF2_ModTools directory and then run vistamungefix.bat, but Marvel has no instructions on how to get his files to work.

Sorry to bother you again, but like I said, I'm new at this :P

To fix the template files:
Extract the data folder from the archive and drop it on BF2_ModTools\data to overwrite the original files.
If you don't get file replacement prompts here then you did something wrong.

To fix a project made prior to fixing the template:
Extract these files from the data archive:
_Build folder
Animations folder
soundclean.bat
soundmunge.bat
soundmungedir.bat

Then copy all of them and go to your data_ABC project and paste them in that folder.
If you don't get file replacement prompts here then you did something wrong.
