General Description

This is a map I've always just wanted to have. One of it's many purposes is to be an arena where people in a clan can get together and battle. It is ideal because it is:
  • Small enough to incorporate small clans (like mine where we rarely have more than 3 people at a time).
  • Tactically stimulating (obstacles, bunkers, etc)
  • Symmetrical (no one sided advantage like on other maps).
  • Many more, it's pretty fun just to play, even with just the ai :lol:
Overall, is it a glamorous map? Not too much, a lot of new models though. And I must say, it's the most fun map I've played (especially the mode in the YouTube video above!). I think that someone just needed to make this type of map, I certainly want it to be in my arsenal, as it will be invaluable for my needs as a leader of a small clan, as well as it's just a cool idea!


Details
  • Sides - Standard sides for conquest, 1flagctf, and 2flagctf, as to keep with the standards of online play. Hero Assault subject to change, and ideas? I will for sure throw in a mode where I will incorporate my latest halo-ish looking player model. In this mode, the teams will be completely fair, no difference except color. This might replace the hero assault, or I could do it so this is eli_c and hero assualt is eli_g See the youtube video above!
  • Spectators - You can now select from 2 units which are spectators. You will be transported to the stands where you can operate camera droids.
  • Scoreboard - In theory, I've concocted the idea for a dynamic scoreboard model, which will update depending on the score. I could accomplish this by have 10 models for the 10 digits, then create/destroy them depending on the score. This is all completely theory, could a lua guru at least quickly tell me if this is theoretically possible before I spend hours trying to do it? :lol: Thank you in advance.

Wow, that looks really good. It does make a good map for clans to play in or just for fun.

Looks nice!
Turrets? Many turrets? maybe some towers too, some of squiddies assets would be great for this map

Ah yes I was going to put some of those in, forgot to mention. Possibly my man-able tripod turrets.

I felt the need for a tower as well, and I have squeddies. The problem is it just didn't seem to fit with the rest of the map. Now that you say that, I know a rather empty spot I could stick one in on each side.

What models are you using! Anyways, this looks great! A must have for all clans looking for good gameplay! But do you need 1.2 to play it?

I'm using a combination of my own models (the arena, grandstand, bunker, etc), shipped (hoth crates and ditch), a model pack by some guy (boxes), and Squeddies model pack (barricades and etc).

You don't need 1.2, but it's a heck of a lot cooler with it!

i would suggest a d-day mode like in savin pvt. ryan. that could give it a really good feel

Looks great! I was thinking of making a "Arena", but I never got around to it.

And a suggestion, put some minor things in the background so it doesn't look so... bare.

Neat, towers would be cool, particularlly if there was a room in the middle with a small hole that only one sniper (at any one time) could use with limited pitch and yaw ability to aim, (Like the cross slots in castle towers) in addition to a somewhat more exposed roof.

But those models look fab, could you take a better picture of the ground bunker, up close, it looks sweet, but I'd like to see some detail.

I know I'm in no fashion a .Lua Guru, but I'm 99.999% positive, that can be done:

Somthing like that I'm almost certain is doable.

You could detail the box seats with some sit-inable recliners like in toast camp. Then have some spectator turrets. And if watching gets boring, I have an interesting idea. Is it possible to import arcade games that can be played by entering them like turrets? That would be awesome! Oh, and for a mode, there could be something of a boss battle with a giant acklay or AT-AT, or something....

This looks excellent. From the screenshots you really get the image that from the moment you spawn you're going to be fighting for your life.
