Announcing: Vehicle Pack #2

Guess what, we've recieved permission from DarkSaber of the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade project (
http://xwaupgrade.com ) to use his models in BF! What does that mean? Models with almost the perfect polygon count, detailed interiors, and all the hardpoints already added!
Right now I'm getting the basics of XSI down. I'm working on figuring out animations so that I can get basic landing gear up/down animations. BUT, here's a list of what I've started / will start, by priority: (for pics, visit the link above and go to screenshots)
-A-Wing
-Outrider (only low rez mesh right now, but we'll see how it looks)
-B-Wing (ONLY after I tackle how to do animations well)

Talk to General Trageton too. Oh, by the way, Lord Bandu already has trageton's Venator converted. . .just don't release any maps with it in it without asking Trageton(that is, if bandu gives it to you)

I like the XA models there. If they cna be converted to XSI and work, that would be AWESOME!

Okay, here's the VERY first shot of the A-Wing. Don't worry, it has textures. I just didn't convert BMP to TGA before putting it ingame. I'm pretty sure it's close to scale. What do you guys think?

Not bad... Not bad, at all... But this A-Wing seems to be smaller than
SWBF II's. Am I wrong ?

Nice work, Tean'... The only problem is the cockpit's appearance, which seems to be rather different of all other star-ships' you can find in SWBF I or II. (In fact, I prefer "homogenic" vehicles...)

@ Rends -- Yeah, it's for future maps, so if you want to submit Slave 1 with it, PM me.
@ Leviathan -- The model has no collision yet, so I got in First Person Mode, walked into the cockpit, and jumped. It was for reference. But I agree, I'll need to fix that up.
I'll be needing some help with things like harpoints and collision. It works fine as a prop, but as a flyer it says it's missing geometry.

Well it´s not finished yet and today my texture guy told me that he couldn´t work on it any longer. So it will takes some more days before it will be finished.
Think about 1 or 2 weeks before it´s done.

A-Wing update shots:
DONE
-Hardpoints for pilot, main lasers, exhaust and damage
-Most of the vehicle 'tuning' -- it flies close to an A-Wing now
-Texture conversion/revamping
TO DO
-Collision --- my collision mesh is not recognized. I guess it doesn't like milkshape's (may need a XSI guy for it)
-Finalize the mesh --- there's a few things I need to fix
-Exhaust --- as you can see, it's a bit big
-Fine tune main lasers
-Secondary weapons --- I think it has them...
-The other colors --- yeah the model has yellow, green and blue (will be separate MSHs and ODFs)
What won't be done
-Landing gear & the animation with it --- sorry, I
really have no idea how
That being said, enjoy the screens! (some I'm driving, some I'm chasing AI -- notice the 100% complete Troop Transport flying around)

Someones finnally done it. Now for the B-wing, and the E-wingC, and DS's K-wing might look better than pandemics. . .so swap mshs maybe.
The a-wings secondaries. . .well in XWA every craft could have every type of all missles. I think it would be best
with the Jedi Star Fighters (Advanced Concusion Missles) as seen in episode 6.
XWAUP has a weapons patch. . .you could use some of those moddels, they might look cool.
