Repositioning the muzzle flash

Post by TWINKEYRUNAWAY »

I recently downloaded rogueknight's HD E-11 model and I was completely impressed with the design and skin of it.

http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 64&t=28792

It fits the unit I have right now, the only draw back that I have is that the muzzle flash seems to be positioned way underneath the barrel of the weapon. It doesn't match up which is unfortunate because the muzzle flash is positioned normal on other models I have used. Ive used the search bar function to see if a remedy has already been found and no luck so far. If anyone can please help me with this, I would be most grateful. So far what I do know is that hp fire controls it, but I have no idea where the odf file with those values is.

There is no hp_fire null in this msh. You or the author of the model will need to add one.

Thank you very much for clearing that up Ace. I guess that brings me up to the next question, how do I add a hp_fire null to the msh. Would this require messing with the model?

It shouldn't take you more than a minute to fix, you just need to have Softimage and ZETools installed. You won't need to touch the model, just build the hierarchy with a null for the firepoint positioned at the end of the barrel.

You could also try grabbing the stock E-11's hp_fire MODL chunk and transferring it over to this new model via hex editing.

Ive decided with the suggestion of my friend nedarb7, that before we make any kind of edit to rogueknight's model, that we message him to see if it is ok to do so. Just want to say thank you ace and AQT for your suggestions and hopefully rogueknight responds when he can. I suppose for now ill use dev's E-11 until then as a placeholder

According to nedarb, rogueknight did not include a hp_fire null which is why it did that.
