Really? I got it months ago specifically because I was looking for a venue to expand my modding, and playing through it felt like a chore. I got a few hours in and never even finished it past there; the story just didn't grab me.

Gah. Lies! Blasphemy! What didn't you like about it? The killing? The realness of it? It is a good game if you can stand the killing and aren't afraid to get your pants scared off every 30 minutes or so. Me and my friend both got it and we're both loving it, but I can see how some people wouldn't like it.
Or if it seems to hard you can turn down the Difficulty.
Not like it'd be to hard for our Mavy.
But Source is a great engine to mod for. Easy, complex, and fun along the way!

Did you get to Ravenholm? Cause, you should atleast do that, then the experience was worth it, no matter your opinion on the game.
Ah Ravenholm, a true love/
hate/
fear relationship.

No, I never got to Ravenholm. The game's failings in my opinion were that it doesn't have an easy "get-into-the-action" setup, and the singleplayer storyline seems pretty weak. When I'm playing a game that's centered around a long SP mission, I don't want weak allusions to what might be going on, I want a clear plot and a story that grabs me.
Also, I'm not a huge fan of shooters. Why SWBF2 grabbed my attention is beyond me; I'm normally an RPG/Platformer man.

1. Portal
2.Gmod 10
3. HL2
4. HL2 Ep1
5. TF 2
Played and Finished HL2 and HL Ep1, Ravenholm was fun, and the game is quite challenging, especially the underground segments of Ep1. But the first game is way too long and tedious at times. The best part was controlling the Antlions at the end. I prefer the episodic installments as they're around the length of Rep Commando.
best part about modding source though is that you can incorporate Lua into it like Gmod did. This is great because as SWBF modders we already have some exposure to it. I'd love to see what Zerted could do with Lua code in Gmod.

Another good game: Team Fortress 2. Been playing that quite a bit lately and it sure is fun!
