You just wouldn't be able to play any of the extra maps that it would show in the Instant Action map list and if you tried it would crash. The SWBF Conversion Pack 2.0 will be released in less than a week and that means the next version of BFX will be well on its way to being released but none the less if you want Pheonix 1.8.4 its here. If you would of looked through some of the pages in this topic than you would of found links endless of times, anyway
here it is. I will be deleting Phoenix 1.8.4 and the shell from the SWBF Conversion Pack (1.9) this week so if anyone needs it they better get it soon.

Yeah. Well, I guess that you don't actually need Pheonix 1.8.4 if you have R50 of Zerted's 1.3 patch. And then you only need the BF1 addon folder.

This may just be me being picky, but when anyone asks a question, could they please try to use proper spelling and grammar? I find it a little disrespectful when someone asks:
k i downloded bfx now what do i do with thease fils som1 hepl me plz
Please, put a little more time and effort into asking for help. I've worked my [Diet Dr. Pepper] off on this project, and I don't appreciate getting questions that could have been written by a six-year-old on wacky tobaccy. I get enough of that on SWBFFiles.

Good point!

Seems like new things are needed for the next version of BFX. Seems pretty overwhelming to me. Anybody mind recapping what I should get for the next version?

I've run into a fairly serious problem. The latest Conversion Pack release adds so many mission scripts into memory, that some of BFX's get left out and result in a FATAL error. (When BFX is installed, this also breaks most addon maps.)
First thing I did to fix this was to remove the BFX "Uber" mode on a few maps. However, that means that the AI count on those maps' respective Conquest mode has been decreased, so that the user can adjust the AI count. Long story short - unless you manually increase the AI count in game options, the big maps will not have as much AI as in BFX 2.1.
Now, the real problem here is that I can't add any Conversion Pack BFX modes into the game, as the game doesn't load more than 500 mission scripts into memory. I have two possible solutions for this:
1. Remove BFX CTF. This will literally halve the amount of scripts that BFX has, freeing up a ton of space for the BFX Conversion Pack scripts, as well as any other addon maps. I could also confine it to a few maps that I think are best for CTF, but that's unlikely. Besides, that probably wouldn't free up enough space.
2. Include a "patched" Conversion Pack 2.0 addme.script with BFX 2.2 that removes a few (TDM, TDF, DM, BF1, Hero CTF, Holocron) of Conversion Pack's game modes, thereby freeing up space for BFX. Don't think that Maveritchell and Teancum will appreciate this very much, though.
Honestly, I'd prefer the first solution, because it drastically reduces the amount of work that I have to do in regards to the Conversion Pack BFX scripts. It would also allow people to have addon maps installed. However, it means that you lose BFX CTF. I may compensate for that, though, by keeping Space CTF and having Hero CTF on a few maps.
So tell me - which one would you people prefer?
P.S. In regards to release date - I'm waiting until the Conversion Pack 2.0 assets are released, there's some stuff in there that I would like to include.

That would, frankly, be unacceptable. I can't technically stop you from doing that, but I would be rather displeased, as not only would it remove a lot of content from the Pack, but whatever was left might end up losing its compatibility with others who have the full version.
I did give your problem a bit of thought over the past couple days, though, and I have one potential solution (although I still prefer your first solution): You might be able to write a .bat file that simply moves the Conversion Pack's addme.script to a dummy folder where it wouldn't be read by the game (and of course you would need a .bat to do the reverse). That would enable a sort've "switcher" between the two mods.

I had considered the switcher approach, it's a little labour-intensive for the user, though. I think I'll probably omit CTF - after playing Hero CTF, I realized that normal CTF is really boring.
BTW, my pilot BFX + CP experiment - Cloud City BFX CW Conquest - worked. However, I did notice something a little bit weird. (It's probably a coding error on my part, but anyway.) The game would not add the BFX mode / era to Conversion Pack's Cloud City entry - I had to create a separate entry in the map list.
Has anyone else noticed if adding extra modes to DLC maps is problematic?

Whenever ARC feels like its ready. Which could be anytime. Though I doubt it will take much longer. Maybe a month or two at the longest I'm guessing. But what do I know?

Well, so much for proper grammar. Unless, in fact, there is a kindergartner on cannabis eagerly waiting for BFX 2.2.
(Check the previous page if you don't get the joke)
BFX 2.2 should be out in around a month, at most. I may have stumbled across something that may mean no BFX Conversion Pack, though. Adding a new mode to an addon map in the addme.script doesn't appear to work.

Well, ARC, this might be your lucky week. I had to reformat my comp, so... I have tons of opportunity with a good clean hard drive to actually make a trailer for this mod (if you still want me to do it). I've just never got around to it, unfortunately, because of RL issues, plus my comp crapping out on me. So, if you still want me to show it off for ya, I can. Can't promise anything, but I can say I've been looking forward to doing one for SW: BFX.
This is a great mod, and to be honest, I don't know if I like yours or Syth's better, because I feel that they are both equally awesome projects. Heh. I dunno. I guess I just want to do something useful before my BF2 modding career ends. I want to do something for the community here that is big. If it's awesome movies or trailers, that'd be cool, even though I prefer to release my own imagined map pack with tons of custom sides. ....er... enough of my blabbering, though.
Just letting ya know that I am still here if anyone wants to mod with me or let me make awesome trailers for them.

Hello,
I have a slight issue with installing your mod. I didn;t have SWBFII installed at the time, so naturally I installed it, and followed the instructions you gave (install the 1.1 patch first, Conversion Pack 1.9 etc)
Now, I haven't tried running it yet, BUT, I cannot find this accursed Phoenix 1.8.4 patch anywhere. The filefront link is now dead (
http://files.filefront.com/Phoenix+184r ... einfo.html) dead as dead can be, just redirects to the front page. Will not installing this cause any serious side effects? I have read that the unofficial 1.3 patch has all the required files (making this elusive Phoenix 1.8.4 unnessessary) but the version of the Unofficial 1.3 patch I have has no installer, and I am not sure where to put said files (I managed to find SWBF2-v1.3patch revision 36.zip, but I am also currently downloading SWBF2v.1.3patch_r83 as we speak, a much later version apparently).
So, other than that, any ideas on how to get Battlefront Extreme 2.1 to run? I'll try it now but I fear without the prequisite files I'll just get a big fat error message)

I deleted Phoenix 1.8.4 since the SWBF Conversion Pack 2.0 is out and you won't get any message just download the the SWBF Conversion Pack 2.0 and everything should work smooth.
