Export .msh crash! [Solved]
Hi guys! I designed a model in XSI 6 Mod Tool, I did it with objects (cubes, spheres, cylinders, cones ...), I want to export it as a. MSH but did not like. follow the tutorial to implement a texture and all good, I have already installed the AddOn for Pandemic that comes with SWBFII MOD TOOLS and I get the option of exporting but in doing so the program closes, said that there was an error while trying to save as. MSH.
I have read the document "art guide" of documentation and "animation guide" but there are things you do not understand as shadowvolume? (it is a small copy of the original?)
collision mesh (?) and finally not be like adding an axis of rotation for my model (it is a turret). if anyone can help me I appreciate it in advance.

Re: Export .msh crash! help please!
you cannot export to .msh with xsi 6 you have to use the full version of xsi 5 or repsharpshooters meshexporter
a shadowvolume is a less detailedcopy of the model, it will create the shadow, call it sv_yourmodelsname and hide it
you dont have to make a collision for your model, visualmung will do that for you, if your model is not too strange

Ok, then no matter who objects used to do but I have to export it to the repsharpshooters exporter and the shadow can be a copy of my model but a bit small?
I recently downloaded a file but converts MSH. en. obj. this is another?

Well, not to hijack, but I noticed a little while ago that Mini said he used the Pandemic Exporter w/ the Mod Tool...

No, minilogoguy uses XSI 6.01 Advanced, not XSI 6 Mod Tool.Fluffy_the_ic wrote:Well, not to hijack, but I noticed a little while ago that Mini said he used the Pandemic Exporter w/ the Mod Tool...

Re: Export .msh crash! help please!
I have many doubts about how to export my model, if anyone knows of a tutorial on how to create and export MSH please tell me. I have taken into account:
XSI 6 Mod TOOL
Crosswalk 2.0 (installed, the 2.6'm looking to work with the meshexporter of repsharpshooter)
Milkshape 1.8.2 registered
Bconstructor
MeshExporter and MeshImporter of Repsharpshooter
sorry guys so much discomfort (is that I do not speak English and so is confusing)

Use this program.
http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 82&start=0
The one that created the .obj is to get msh files back into XSI

Re: Export .msh crash! help please!
I have this program, so I downloaded a few days ago.
I will explain what I did:
1) I make a model in XSI Mod Tool using basic shapes (cubes, cylinders when they're ready ...), story that has polygons (1540 + - is a vehicle)
2) add a hardpoint "hp_fire" (a simple cylinder)
3) add texture to each object
4) add a "null" called "dummyroot" whose position 0,0,0.
5) I select all (minus the "dummyroot") and press "merge" to create a "polymsh" to change the name and call it "collision" and then change the scale at 0999/0999/0999 (in the words of a tutorial).
6) doubled "collision" and then I'll call it "xxxxxxxx_lowrez" (xxxx. ... model name).
7) hidden objects "collision" and "xxxxxxx_lowrez."
8 ) I select all (less camera and lights)
9) I will crosswalk, export, and still the instructions of repsharpshooter to use meshexporter.
10) I go to the directory where the exported file (xxxxx.xsiftx) and open Mshex, convert the file. MSH, hit it in my Mod / dir ZE but not seen. Munge and then CRASH!! failure!
is not that I'm doing wrong or that I left to do.

Re: Export .msh crash! help please!
MeshEx doesn't handle hidden objects or collisions, and I am actually not sure about lowres (which doesn't have to be hidden BTW)
I suggest trying to export the model but without the collision or lowres first, just drag them out from the dummyroot to the sceneroot is good enough.
For step 8 you are just branch selecting the dummroot correct (middle click on dummyroot) just asking cause lights and cameras are in the sceneroot.
Step 9 what version of crosswalk are you using, it should be the latest which I think is 3 but you can check the XSI web site for that.

Re: Export .msh crash! help please!
So I have to export without collisions? ok.
I have 2.6 which is the crosswalk that suggests repsharpshooter.

YJJ hidden or not?
Anyway, I was suggesting starting off simple to confirm it works properly for him then add more things in till it doesn't work so he knows what to avoid.
As for version of Crosswalk yes that is fine.

Re: Export .msh crash! help please!
What am I doing wrong?
this is my model, is a building that is 420 polygons. I did it with simple objects:

when I go to export it as. xsi change to xsi 5.0 (text) in the pop-up window and if you export the file but when I use meshexporter the MSH file is incomplete. someone can tell me that I must do! I'm desperate!
this is the meshexporter window after the conversion of .msh.

Re: Export .msh crash! help please!
It looks to me like you're getting your instructions mixed up, there are different instructions for exporting from Mod Tool when exporting with MshEx and exporting out of Mod Tool to send to someone to export with the Pandemic Tools.
My advice to you would be to ditch Mod Tool and just get the full XSI 5.0 and install Pandemic Tools so you can export properly.
