Any GOOD racing games?
Hey, so I've been wanting to play some racing games but the ones we have are really outdated. My friend plays Need for Speed and I've been thinking about getting that but I wanted to hear what your suggestions were.
So do I have any takers? I preferably like to play them on my 360.

Any NFS game before Underground is worth playing. The Gran Turismo series is quite good also. Driver (if anyone can remember this lol) was pretty fun.

GRID or Forza 3 for more of the track type races and less customization. If you want more customization I guess you can play the Need for Speed games, although the only one I really enjoyed was Underground 2.

Re: Any GOOD racing games?
If you like crashes and Need For Speed type games, Burnout Paradise blows any NFS game out of the water. It's open-world, has tons to do, and has over 1.5gb of DLC available, including a whole new island that adds a good 50% extra to the free roam.
For more serious racing a la Gran Turismo, get Forza Motorsport 3. It's leaps and bounds better than the Gran Turismo series now (though I haven't played the GT5 demo) and has lots of DLC and online support.
If you're looking for something inbetween, GRID is what you want. It's got anything from formula cars, to street racing to drifting. It's a great all-around title.

Trackmania Nations Forever is a pretty sweet racing game, and it's free. You can download it via Steam or from their website (Google it).
There's a track editor, challenges, multiplayer, time trials, etc.
[EDIT]
Didn't see the 360 bit... But you should still consider getting it.

Or you can get United Forever, which has a cost, but a good deal more environments, tracks, cars, etc.Dohnutt wrote:Trackmania Nations Forever is a pretty sweet racing game, and it's free. You can download it via Steam or from their website (Google it).

Forza 3 is probably one of the best games I've ever played. Definitely the best racer. Trust me, that game can last you a loooong time.

Re: Any GOOD racing games?
Well, I kinda am more leaning towards Burnout Paradise cuz I like to get my car really banged up but then Forza 3 looks pretty awesome. Thanks for the suggestions!

I heard NFS Shift was pretty impressive. Then again it was by the makers of burnout.

Forza 2 (less pricy, great graphics, amazing customization, very realistic) Forza 3 (Forza 2 but with more cars, better graphics, more customization, but its a new game, so that means around $50 price tag)

Actually, a lot changed between the two other than that. Better tracks and more realistic handling.Master of Stickmen wrote:Forza 2 (less pricy, great graphics, amazing customization, very realistic) Forza 3 (Forza 2 but with more cars, better graphics, more customization, but its a new game, so that means around $50 price tag)
@Nova: Actually, in Forza 3, there's a difficulty option about car damage. Yes, you get paid less in career, but you can pretty much destroy your car without any penalty.

I know. He said he liked getting his car all banged up and stuff, so I figured I might as well tell him that.Master of Stickmen wrote:They have that in Forza 2 also.Fluffy_the_ic wrote:@Nova: Actually, in Forza 3, there's a difficulty option about car damage. Well, I looked up Forza 3 and it looks pretty awesome. I'm thinking about getting it but then again my b-day is in about a month so I think I'll wait.

Anything but Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (biggest waste of fifty in my life). If you want to buy a GT, wait for the full release of GT5

Please don't bump month-old topics. It's against the rules.
