the atst thing gave me an even crazier idea....

I can make frigates spawn automated fighters. Is that cool or what?
How about, instead of spawning automated fighters, the frigates could spawn guided rockets (which fly to critical systems and blow up) along with automated flying probe droids which try to board enemy ships?

you should create mon cal/imp sds that spawn automated fighters and the cap ships have no interriors except a hangar that can be landed in. The hangar doors would be locked. (i mean the ones that lead to the interrior) You could make the automated fighters extremely vast in numbers to make it a huge dogfighting map, like the real battle of endor!

Guided missiles....ai don't seem to understand the concept of how to use them. And probe droids are hovers, not flyers. (They can't fly higher than 1 meter above the ground which there happens to be no ground except capitol ships in space.)

So these probe droids would fall endlessly?

This could work rather nicely. It would only take 2 real cps to set up all the automated fighters I want. All it would take is to create a giant control region that covers the whole map and I could easily destroy the spawn points by simply deleting them.

Have you figured out how to add vast quantities of AI-Fighter ?

And: Please, don't use Cargo Bays as hallways. This results in a feeling of strange emptiness.
You can put crashed ships and Astromechs in one bay, some vehicles waiting to be sent to the planet's surface in another one and make one an audience room with lots of chairs and an elevated position for the speaker.

I thought Kamino hallways were working, so do you plan to replace them ?

Ok, im either dumb, or tired, but why would you want to destroy the spawn points?

Does a dead frigate still spawn ships?

I think I'll use the atsts with the jungle skin since those were used on Endor's suface.

In your origional post xwingguy you said that you were going to give the A-wings shields, I didn't think they had shields, or was I reading from a wrong source?

P.S.

Technicaly, it's space so they wouldn't, but since some bright spark at Pandemic thought there should be gravity, they would fall, grrr.

I'm not too good with space physics or anything, so I'm probably wrong, but wouldn't the players fall in space due to the planet's gravity?

yup, just not at the rate they do ingame... the reason Pandemic made it the way they did was for the internal gravity in cap ships.... it's easier to make a map wide gravity then it is to try and script regional gravity for the cap ships.

u could make a turret that lock-on to a target and fires a rocket like a rocket launcher except its a turret..tat would be cool 8) u could also increase its locking range for planes flying far away..

I see with the guided missiles, but with the probe droids I was thinking of them using a new flyer ODF that could still attack in the hanger, and having the odf set so that the flyers don't take any damage colliding with things (which would be necessary for an interior-attacking flyer)

As for the guided missles, a possibility might be having them classified as Huge vehicles so that you can set up paths to the critical systems that only they will follow, while setting up either barriers or danger regions to keep them from straying.

well i like the idea of cargo bays with some prop vehicles and stuff but dont overdo it. i got an idea: you know the buzz droids, well you could use them in this map. i dont mean like that those balls attach to you but if you fly over an area wich are infested with those little b*stards then you could get damage, and maybe you ship would go a bit wierd.

buzz droids were from the clone wars era, and were directly linked to the CIS...i dont know if you've noticed yet or not delta_602, but the battle over Endor took place quite a long time after the clone wars were fought. nice concept, but not for galactic civil war stuff...

Clone Wars ... this makes me remember something...

Xwingguy, when you're done with BaE, do you plan to make a similiar map set in the Clone Wars ?

That would be awsome. I like clone wars better then GCW, although this map is to cool to not play ;)
