Ditto. It would break the game if it was in multiplayer.

Yes, I'm the first to post this!

There was a Japanese trailer, may or may not be the one I posted, that had a section with the sticker power-ups

Serebii.net (Click the Spolier Tag button on the Monday update) has a freeze-frame picture of it, and the characters that can use the Groudon sticker are Pikachu and Pokemon Trianer, plus two more. Lucario and Jigglypuff.

Consider these two unintentionally confirmed unlockable characters.

Hidden/Spoiler:
Jigglypuff was a given but it's starting to sound more and more like Lucario will actually be in after all. What makes Lucario so special, anyway?

I hope the spoilers Mav posted aren't true...

Edit: Okay I just checked http://www.serebii.net myself and it looks like Lucario will be in like Fusion said. The evidence isn't exactly indisputable but it's pretty solid. However I'm holding my final judgment for later because there's always the possibility that that picture was edited by a fan.

PLEASE, learn to use the [ Hide ][ /Hide ] tags around spoilers!
it's ok for me to know about veterans returning as unlockables, but ALL NEW UNLOCKABLE characters is really something I dont wanna know about.
in this thread, put spoilers that are about characters and unlockables in [ Hide ] [ /Hide ] tags.

Hidden/Spoiler:
Yep, very true. I've looked at the video myself - originally it was on the Japanese website, but about an hour after the thread went up on IGN the video was hastily edited by Nintendo. The funny thing is that if you pause it at around 4:20 you can still see the icons for some reason. Anyway, the video can be found on Youtube (go to brawlcentral.com and scroll down slightly) and without a doubt you can see Lucario, Jigglypuff and Ness. Awesome, huh?

Also, don't mistake Ness for the Pokémon Trainer, there are two little icons, one of Ness and one of PT.
Zaborack, does that include new characters that are announced on the Dojo?

lol 4:20. sorry.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Lucario probably because of popularity. More so in Japan.
Ok. I"m going to have a bit of trouble wording this out.
Lucario is a fighting and steel while Blaziken is fighting and fire. So Blaziken could fit into Brawl easily. But I think due to Charizard who's fire Lucario was the better pick.

Anything on the Dojo is official, and Sakurai said he wouldnt reveal any unlockables there, so you can post anything from the Dojo here.

EDIT: From Brawlcentral.com:

Image
A poster on 2ch supposedly has gotten a hold of the game disc and posted pictures as proof. He also took a picture of what he calls the official starting roster.
Image
The picture was taken from his TV (notice the TV1 text on the top right). Either it's a good fake or it's the real deal! Stay tuned for more updates!

Stay up to the minute as I translate the 2chan discussion and keep everyone updated in the forums!

Looks pretty real, I'd say, but it's up to you to decide.

I always thought that Blaziken would make a perfect Super Smash Bros character but the inclusion of the Pokemon Trainer sort of stomps out that idea.

Grats.

I'm liking the starters. The only thing i don't like is how they're organized. In Melee it was by franchise. here just whatever, unless it's by release or something else. Glad to see we have to work for Snake and Sonic.

Maybe it's a temporary organization. That's really random.

So do we officialy know how many characters total are in Brawl? Is there even a rumor that looks like it could be true?

Makes more sense, just build off the demo builds.

From that screen we're looking at 21 characters. 10 or 15 were in Melee. So, we won't really know until Jan 31st when Japan gets it.

There's rumored to be around 40 characters total. Before I thought that that seemed reasonable but now I'm starting to think that that's a little high. It'll at least be 30, you can count on that.

Confirmation of the Video Being Real?
Shortfuse of SWF just contacted me and pointed out something very interesting. Here's what he had to say:

I started the "Japanese Forums" thread almost 3 weeks ago. It got some attention and was pretty popular. Gimpyfish grew interested in the way the SWF community was involved in this project of checking Japanese sites. He went to talk to a few friends who are major smash players in Japan. What happened later (and he announced on the SMYN podcast) is that he said he obtained some link to some great sites including what he though to be the Japanese Smashboards. It turned out it wasn't and the rest of the sites where just simple tournament sites. I didn't pay much attention to them. Gimpy did say since one of his friends would likely get the game early, since he hosts Melee tournaments. One of the tournament sites is http://ketubato.com . Interesting enough, this video surfaced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VxrQi...

What's the correlation? Well, look at the user who uploaded the video. It's queensaki. Who is queensaki? It's none other than the webmaster of ketubato.com. What am I getting at? Yes, Gimpy's friend who he said was going to have Brawl early...who hosts tournaments is the one who uploaded the Brawl video to youtube. Yes guys, it's real.

I agree very much with what he said, and it looks like this video is indeed real, using the logic explained above. I'll let you be your own judge on the matter. We're still doing soem detective work to find out about the source of the video, so be patient. Don't go claiming that we're confirming the video, because we aren't.
More info on the leaked game above

Final Destination? read on:
Brawlcentral wrote:Image removed due to site being abandoned/turned into Malware

If you look at the lower left corner of that image, Mario and Bowser are fighting on what appears to be Final Destination. The structure seems the same, as does the warping background.

Also, what's interesting is the list of characters. It seems to be telling how much damage is needed to KO a character under certain conditions. Basically, it gives the weight order for the entire starting roster! Notice how Zelda and Sheik now have different weights.
Brawlcentral shure is nice...

Fox is the easiest to knock out? Huh.

Anyway The Mushroomy Kingdom seems like it could be a fun stage. I don't understand why they made it a wasteland though.

The kingdom you once knew has turned to ruins over the long years, and it is now your battlefield.
I guess that's why, but still kinda weird.
