This game.. is simply amazing.

The setting of it takes place on the Western WWII front. This was known to be the most brutal part of the war. And for this reason...
Its difficult to fathom the price the Soviets (Russia) paid in sheer blood. They lost more lives than any other Allied nation or any two combined. Its not possible to know for sure, but estimates range between 23 million to 27 million. To help understand the magnitude of that figure, the USA lost approximately 300,000, Great Britain - 390,000, China who fought on the Allied side was closest with 11 million. Germany itself suffered 7 million casualties.
This is taken from the Team Frag Website and you can learn more here http://www.teamfrag.net

You probly don't remeber the "Make Something Real" compitetion but it was put out by Unreal and whoever make the best mod to the game won quite a bit of money to make their own game. This is that game so to win it must be good. Check out some details....

The most realistic war shooter on the market right now. A few instances of this...
Get hit in the leg you can see your screen move as you limp, and your speed decreases to very little.

It can take 1-5 bullets to kill someone.

If you move a shoot without doing Iron Sights (Zooming) it is almost impossible to hit someone. Staying prone, and staying still will give u the most accurate shot along with crouch in the middle.

It is absolutelty impossible to run-'n-gun in this game. That means instant death. Its definatly a hide in a trench, poke your head up, shoot, and duck down game.

Camping is one of the best strageties.

It is made by history freaks and everything is insanely accurate. Even where you hit a tank to hurt it (Shoot its tread and it can't move much anymore. If you tilt a tank shells from other tanks will bounce off of it. You have to shoot the seams of a tank perfectly.)

The action is extremely fast paced and non-stop. Feeling that death can come from any rooftop, corner, tree, or scenery is a very scary feeling.

Artillary strikes are one of the most graphically amazing things i've ever seen. The teamwork system in the game is quite amazing.

I think everyone should atleast look at it. Basically log on/get a Steam account and buy it for 24.95 and a 1.5 hour download. Its an online game only and now that the map editor is out its about to explode. It also has the great server technology where you download the map if the server you want to play on doesn't have it. Which I would kill if SWBF2 did.

Anyway check out the site:http://www.redorchestragame.com/index.php
Here is the trailers. They are a must see: http://www.redorchestragame.com/index.p ... ectionid=3

Enjoy,
Smiley.

P.S. If you have any questions feel free to ask i'd be happy to answer.

Well, NegativeSmiley, since you seem to be rather well-informed about Red Orchestra : Ostfront 41-45, do you know whether the Development Studio which initiated and led the conceiving of this video-game - Also known as being Tripwire Interactive - has eventually planned on releasing a Software Development Kit intended to it ?

Thanks in advance !...

Was released on April 28th. It has its pros and cons over Zeroeditor. Steep steep learning curve but is very powerful. Comes with a very nice easy to understand tutorial. Somethings I really don't like though is that its much much more easier to move around in Zeroeditor but its easier to line things up and place them in SDK. It could go ethier way for me. If I could combine the two i'd be happy.

Its a great tool once you learn how to use it, Which I plan on doing.

Thanks for all these explanations, NegativeSmiley, but now you've mentioned the Mapping Utility shipping with Red Orchestra : Ostfront 41-45's Software Development Kit, I would like you to tell me if this Program owns common points or even resemblances with the ones Valve Software had conceived and intended to Half-Life 1 / 2 - Also known as being called "Worldcraft" and "Valve Hammer Editor" -, since the Tripwire Interactive Product dealt in this thread seems to be "powered" by Steam...
