[Tutorial] Particle Editor - basic operations (FAQ)

I've noticed no good tutorial for Particle Editor's basics exists, only instructions on how to get it working. So I spent a couple hours typing this up. Hopefully it'll do newbies a bunch of good.
Click here to download the word document.

The tutorial assumes you already have Particle Editor installed. If you don't, check out the several ways to get it working. It also assumes you know how to make a custom side. It also assumes maybe one or two other things (there's a list in the document, if you read it).

Enjoy. :D

EDIT: Hopefully corrected version uploaded - Word 97 conversion bug fixed.

EDIT 2 - If and when the link breaks, send me a PM and I'll re-upload it.

You can view it online HERE.

Note that this only goes through the very basics - I'm still typing up an extension that goes into more detail, but I wanted to get this out first, see how useful it'd be.

Excellent tut, I'd definitely think this will/should be added under the Particle Editor section in the faq/everything thread 2.0, I know this has given me a kick in the pants to make some nice effects!

Awesome! Thanks Fiodis! I never got how to use it and hopefully with your tuts i'll begin to use it :)

EDIT: Just opened it and the layout was kinda stuffed up abit. Nothing serious, but a few pictures were out of place and the text layout a bit stuffed. I've got Word 2008 on Mac. Maybe do it as a pdf next time? Most people have a pdf viewer don't they?

Keep it Word please. :o
If you don't have Microsoft Word 2008, you should be able to open it in notepad at least.

I typed it up in Word 2007 and saved it as a 97-2003 compatability document. I've never had trouble with that before, but opening it up now, I see what you're talking about. Strange - the 2007 version looks fine. I'll fix the '97 one and reupload.

Edit: Reuploaded.

you should post just a plain text version in your first post for lazy people that dont want to leave the site.

With Images of course, I think this is a good idea.

Can plain text have images? I thought only rtf could have them...

I think/thought myers73 was just talking about posting the tutorial on GT (like actually not in the forums, no DL link) like a lot of other tuts.
