Oh I'm detecting the pattern here. We get rumors of a game that might actually be in development, LucasArts keeps wanting to surprise us, but since we know, they just destroy the developers and burn the current build of the game. We can expect the same to happen here.

Slant Six's games are terrible. Let's hope this isn't true. Besides, an online-only title would take more than half the fun out of the game. It'll end up being Star Wars: Battlefield 1943.

It's only a rumour at the moment, the platforms could change at any given time, that's even if it's true. In any case, I will be boycotting it if it doesn't have Single Player mode too.

Online only? **** that. Let's hope this doesn't become anything more than a rumor.

Just like the MW2 boycott?

That's a lot of people there in that picture. Unfortunately, I can't tell if you were being facetious through my laptop screen ^^'

I'm thinking facetious. It seems these days that people go crying out all the time that they'll boycott things if they aren't exactly as they want them, and it's rarely effective. It might look like there are a lot of people on the MW2 boycott list, but 833 is absolutely
nothing compared to the overall market for the game; those people hardly made a dent in the game's sales or its reception.
I would never buy an online-only Battlefront, but I'm not going to call for a boycott of the game. I just don't play games online much and have no interest in buying them. I'll just pass on this one (assuming it is developed) and wait for something to come along that does interest me.

Oh, I wouldn't call for a boycott either. Too drastic. I'd still buy Battlefront games, even the "Squadron" titles. But I'd never buy an online-only version of Battlefront. I believe Battlefront is best played how we choose to play it, be it offline in Single Player Campaign Mode, or online in Uber Conquest Mode, or whatever. In fact, despite the slight disappointment with Elite Squadron, I'd be quite happy to see Rebellion develop another Squadron title as long as they fixed a few issues first.

And considering more than half of them are playing the game right then and there...

Ugh...another SWBF<x> thread? *facepalm*
I'm sorry, but unless I see it on lucasarts.com, I'm not going to believe this.

Might have only been a poor choice of words on your part, I just couldn't resist the chance to nail you on that one.

Eh, it's not going to be for the PC, so I can't get it, only having a Wii. However, even if I could get it, I wouldn't bother with it. Got BF2142, loathed the fact that the game seemed more focused on MP than SP.

I
will be boycotting it. I
won't be calling for a mass boycott of it. There's a difference

Yeah, that was my original point, but I don't think they caught on, lol

Whoever the author of that article is wrote:Whether this game was the source of that "Battlefront IV" concept art that turned up last year is unknown
SWBF IV concept art? Don't we need SWBF III first?
My opinion: If it's gonna be online only, there'd better be a lot of content, and there'd better be a LOT of people in the game at once [without lag].
Since both requests seem unrealistic, even if it does make it out, I probably won't get it. Mostly likely because it'd probably suck. I won't care about any boycotts, I just... won't get it. My indifference is final.

The truth is that Gametoast has a secret deal with LA to not release any Battlefront until we're done modding the game. Sorry world.
